Okay we going together toward healthier bodies and minds. Sadly holidays have been commercialized to focus on consumption including lots of sugar, empty carbs and calories.  We can make much healthier choices since we are not mindless puppets of the greedy manufacturers.

Let's give ourselves and others the gift of healthier food and attitudes.

All the very best on this Thanksgiving Day.

Anyone want to share a few things that they are thankful for to inspire us?

I'm thankful for my home to keep me sheltered from the storms.

I'm grateful for my work teaching exercise and health to older adults and it

helps me, too.

I'm grateful for still being able to dance.

I'm thankful for my son and his kids just 1 hour away.

I'm grateful for my sister and brother across the country that I can call.

I'm grateful for my garden with some organic veggies and fruit.

I'm thankful for the good nutrition that my late momma taught me to eat.

I'm thankful for my Fitbit friends that are so kind and supportive.

We are doing this one day at a time and we can reach our healthy goals!

Hugs to all our fierce challengers,

Barbara G

Final weigh-in for this challenge:

Thanksgiving: 186

Week 1   186

Week 2    186

Week 2   186

Christmas weight 186.5

So, I didn't lose one pound or one inch, but I do know I am healthier and stronger, despite some health issues.  That works.  Maybe next challenge...

The activity that seems impossible today, will soon be your warm-up

@almost_where  WOW!  Congratulations on the new badge.  That is wonderful - not an easy one to earn.  You did such an amazing job.  Your focus and discipline continue to inspire me.  I hope your holiday is a good one.

Okay, so the calorie counting started again today.  Partly because I'm committed to a weekly lunch with my mother (even though I estimate what I've taken in) and partly because it was food and chocolate overload the last week.  Although oddly enough I had way too much chocolate on Thurs/Fri and my weight came down.  For me this is sometimes and indicator that I hadn't been taking in enough calories.  It's almost like my body relaxes from a freaked out position and says 'okay we can let go of some of that weight now'.

Merry Christmas, everyone!  I didn't make my goal, either.  And to think back in Septermber I though I'd hit it by Halloween, silly me.  The good news though, is that I have found the secret to maintenance, it's trying as hard as you can to lose one stinking pound.  Yep, that's it, for me anyway.  Maybe by Valentine's Day?  lol

I didn't make my goal either.  This last month was a tough one.  I did lose weight, but not what I wanted.  I need to lose 2 more lbs.  I have lost 8 since Nov 1.  My plan is to lose the last 2 lbs by the end of January, hopefully by the middle of the month.  I lost 55 lbs since Jan 2015!!!!!

I did not make my goal of not gaining between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I gained 2 pounds. But I will lose that and more.

USW (6/19/16) = 204 lbs

SW (11/28/16) = 191

GW (12/25/16) = 191

CW (12/26/16) = 193

UGW = 155

It's been a crazy month with more work travel, an unexpected extended stay at an airport due to weather, and a bout with the flu. I started the online dating thing around Thanksgiving and have found a fellow who is particularly interesting. We're going out this Thursday evening -- my first date in over a decade. I need to find something flattering to wear!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!!

Well didn't lose 10 but gain 9....smh. I'm gonna blame it on all the bday(11/28) lunches and dinners. Worked Christmas so didn't get to enjoy the family dinner....which I guess is a good thing...lol

GONNA DO BETTER NOW THAT I'M BACK FOCUS!!!
