Hi All!
This is the Thanksgiving to New Years Eve Challenge... Welcome !!
We'll begin on Thanksgiving, November 26th and finish on New Years Eve, December 31st. This gives us 5 weeks for this challenge so set your goals accordingly & don't worry if you don't hit them, it's not all about the numbers, it's about how you feel about your own health & being part of a fun, supportive group.
To join the challenge all you need to do is post your weight stats & check in as often as you like with an update or just to share a story from your week. This group has proven to be so supportive the last 2 challenges I've been a part of so I hope you find it just as great to be a part of as well.
So, enjoy being part of the group & have fun working towards your goals!
A little rundown of terminology for anyone who is new (thanks @awood08 for this list from the last challenge).
USW- Ultimate Starting Weight

I have not weighed in yet, but I suspect an increase. Resting because of the flu, holiday parties and hormone treatments are sending the little fairies that sew my clothes tighter at night.
I refuse to give up. My EMT admission test is on january 16 and I have to do my best!

USW- Ultimate Starting Weight - 112.8 kg - 1 September 2015CSW- Current Starting Weight - 103.1 kg -26 November 2015
GW- Goal Weight - 100 kg (more likely to be 101.5 - but still hoping for the nice round number)
UGW- Ultimate Goal Weight - aiming for 80 kg at the moment
Not sure what happened in the last week of the last challenge. I was on my best behaviour, but managed to put a little bit back on. Lost 1.3kg last challenge though. Now to make it continue... 🙂
One week in - 5 December 2015- down to 102.8, only 0.3,, but it's still down.
Two weeks in - 13 December 2015 - went up to 103.9 - so +0.8 for the challenge.. 😞
Nearly 3 weeks in - 17 December 2015 - down to 102.3 Yay! Discovered that most of the weight I put on while on holidays must have been water. 🙂 So overall down 0.8 kg for the challenge now 🙂
Three weeks in - 20 December 2015 - down to 101.9. The lowest I have been in around 10 years 🙂 Down 1.2kg for challenge now. Christmas goal of 101.5 seems achievable 🙂
23 December 2015 - Yay! I got down to my Christmas goal of 101.5 kg today 🙂 🙂 🙂 Lost 1.6 kg for the 4 weekchallenge. Now to see if I can lose another 5kg by easter.

I've been with my daughter's family--up here in wonderful Wyoming--for the past week + and I THINK I have not lost OR gained anything. Her scale is suspect, but it indicates I'm the same as when I got here, and that is a good thing, because I've been eating differently and making cookies with the grandkids (which I have to sample, of course). The extra work and movement, though, might have been enough to counter those goodies, as well as daily walks with my dog and dancing in the living room with my family. )I'm learning about all the current music from my grandteens.)
We had an early Christmas celebration yesterday, since the family is heading out tomorrow on a trip to New Zealand while I dogsit here. I expect to be able to get after my health goals a bit better once I am no longer cooking so much, or cooking and eating so many rich items.
It has been a swell holiday for me, and I do not feel bad about my holding pattern. I WILL feel bad about it, though, if I don't get things moving again in another week. The extra energy I've had from my original loss this past summer is so noticeable that I'm sure if I can keep moving the scale in that downward direction (while continuing my increased walking/step goals) things will only get better and better!
I hope you are are all having a satisfying holiday season, that you are happy and healthy and finding your dearest hopes fulfilled. I send you warm regards!
Jacqueline

Good news for you in your progress toward a healthier body.
My cold is clearing and I'm at 137.6 lbs this morning so not dropping as much as I wish to, but it is in the healthy weight range so the move back to 135 is not critical.
Happiest of holidays to you and all my Fitbit buddies. Now to peel myself out of my arm chair and start shopping and wrapping presents.

Hello Syreina
Congrats on being so close to your goal. Healthy bmi is my favorite number. I'm in the healthy range but trying to reduce the last lbs of belly pouch. Very resistant to leaving me and maintaining the loss is a challenge for me.
You are doing great.
Best,
Barb G

Study hard for your test and ace it. Walking or dancing or running brings more O2 to your brain.
Happy holidays,

Kimshea,
You serious about giving up wine? I just did 3 days ago. the deciding to do it is the hardest part.
I did it for my acid reflux. But my jenny consultant has been hounding me all year to quit of cut back. Somehow cutting back NEVER works.

Well, I have been making merry and enjoying some pre-holiday celebrations with my kids who are home from college. Unfortunately, I have gained a pound :(, but am still down 3 pounds for the challenge, so I'll call it a win. I will limit my indulgences during Christmas celebrations, but will not completely pass up on the goodies. If I don't get to my goal for December 31, I'll get there in January.
Happy Holidays Everyone!

We will be all over these next 2 days for each of our family get togethers for Christmas so I'm checking in a little early. No change this week but that's perfectly okay. This week has been very difficult emotionally. I learned when I left my office yesterday that I was the only manager/supervisor in the WHOLE COMPANY that did not receive a Christmas bonus. Which not only made me very angry but put me in a very down mood. I'm the only female in the company and this just further makes me upset about the lack of equality I face everyday. I am having a meeting with the owner and my boss next week and I'm hoping they can give me a valid explanation as to why I am the only one not to receive this bonus. If you celebrate Christmas, I hope you have a wonderful one! And if you celebrate any other holiday, I hope it's wonderful as well 🙂

Hi All,
Just checking in with stats. After a rough week at work, during which I did not give in to the urge to "stuff" my feelings, here's where things stand:
USW 184 lbs
CSW 174.4 lbs
PW 172.6
CW 170
CGW 169 lbs
UGW 164 lbs (subject to downward revision)
Here's what I've learned -- that if I don't log for a couple of days, the best thing to do is just start logging my current day. I may or may not go back and log the past days. It's progress, not perfection. I have also learned to reset everyday -- it's a new day, forget yesterday, make a fresh start. My God, that applies to so much!!!
A Merry Christmas to everybody and all God's blessings on a joyful New Year for all.
