Hi All!
This is the Thanksgiving to New Years Eve Challenge... Welcome !!
We'll begin on Thanksgiving, November 26th and finish on New Years Eve, December 31st. This gives us 5 weeks for this challenge so set your goals accordingly & don't worry if you don't hit them, it's not all about the numbers, it's about how you feel about your own health & being part of a fun, supportive group.
To join the challenge all you need to do is post your weight stats & check in as often as you like with an update or just to share a story from your week. This group has proven to be so supportive the last 2 challenges I've been a part of so I hope you find it just as great to be a part of as well.
So, enjoy being part of the group & have fun working towards your goals!
A little rundown of terminology for anyone who is new (thanks @awood08 for this list from the last challenge).
USW- Ultimate Starting Weight
CSW- Current Starting Weight
GW- Goal Weight
UGW- Ultimate Goal Weight
PW- Previous Weight
CW- Current Weight
MFP- My Fitness Pal

I am happy today! I went out last night and bought an Aria scale, and is that thing fancy! Also, it put me back down a little bit from my weight yesterday, which made me feel a lot less discouraged. So starting with new scale here's my check in for today:
USW 235
CSW 178
CW 178.4
CGW 174
UGW 145
Since yesterday my old scale had me at 180.5, I'm really happy with this weigh in. And now I can tell if my body fat % is changing at all when the numbers are not moving.

Hi all,
I haven't been around for awhile, but wanted to wish all of you a very healthy, energetic, vibrant New Year, filled with peace, love and joy.
I have been struggling with another health problem involving my foot (this is really getting old!) and couldn't walk for awhile, and have been limited. After some minor surgery next month I'm hoping I will be able to get back on track. Then you'll have to deal with me all the time!
I really do miss you guys - you are so supportive, wise, determined, and fun. And so impressive about struggling to meet your goals.
And to those of you I knew from previous challenges - Awood - WOW you rocked it big time! Always take good care of yourself no matter what. May this year be a sweet one for you. Barbara, dear friend, I love how strong and wise you are, and miss you! I hope the new year brings you wonderful things.
Keep up the good work. You inspire me greatly.
Best wishes to all,
Bobbi

I'm so glad you checked in with us, I get worried about you guys when we don't hear from you! I hate to hear you are having foot issues again, I pray for a speedy and great recovery so you can get back on track. Thanks for keeping us all motivated and your positive encouragement!
@HelenKr Congrats on getting to a size 12 as well! 🙂 We are doing great, just gotta keep up the hard work and we can acheive anything!
If everyone is good with the new challenge going from January 1st to Valentine's day I can post the new challenge if everyone is okay with that?

Final check in for this challenge! Can't believe how fast this year has gone by 🙂 I hope everyone has a very safe, and happy New Year!!! We are spending the evening with a few good friends and our children and their children having a fire and ringing in the New Year at our house.
I got some gym time in this morning which I'm grateful for since the gym is closed tomorrow and my weekends are my family time 🙂 I've decided to change my UGW from 175 to 160 and see how it goes. Taking it small baby steps at a time usually keeps me motivated a lot more than seeing a giant number on my dashboard.

Hip Hip Hooray to all the folks that lost weight or at least maintained.
I'm in the gained a little group this time so we can start fresh as no more holiday excuses for us. I've not been active enough over the holidays and I'm sure the old metabolic rate has slowed down to sluggish, so lots of dancing tonight and only one glass of Proseco for a toast to the new year (at least that is my goal).
Need to look up exact starting weight but hanging at 138.8 this morning which is still in healthy BMI but not my goal weight of 133-135 which I hit in Sept before I went in reverse in October. It is the maintaining boogie that I need to work on. Well I think I was 136.8 on Thanksgiving morn. so I gained 2 lbs.
Thanks for putting up the new Challenge. See you over there soon.
Wishing you all the healthiest, happiest, most meaningful 2016,
Barbara G

See you in the new Challenge next year! Happy New Year to everyone!!!

Bobbinyc,
Phew! So glad to hear from you and thanks for the caring thoughts.I miss you too! Sounds serious with surgery on the horizon next month. Wishing you the best surgery and recovery ever. Did you get a second opinion and find the best surgeon in your health plan? Is it bunion surgery or something else?
Please come visit us when you have to sit with your foot elevated. I know that you know to eat really healthfully to help with the healing. Maybe make large quantities of veggie bean soup and freeze it since cooking on crutches is hardly convenient at all.
Wishing you the healthiest of New Years and very comfy slippers and shoes.
Hugs,
Barbara G

Oh maybe I will put in the official figures tomorrow morning too. Maybe I can dance off a couple ounces over night.
New day and motivation from goal setting will help.
best wishes,

I didn't quite make my goal of 4 pounds (well I did but it was short lived!). I only lost 2.5 pounds. It was difficult with all the food in the house as we hosted Christmas and New Year's Eve. I'll take it as a win that I still lost something and did not gain. I have to remind myself it is not a race. Today's a new day. On to the next challenge.

Hey Guys,
Here's my final log in for this challenge:
USW 184
CSW 170
PW 171.2
GW 169
UGW 164 (subject to downward revision)
The last few days were really carb heavy -- lasagna for Christmas, pizza, pasta and wine last night, I even did home fries several times this week -- we won't even talk about desserts. On the positive side -- I walked and walked and probably walked away from a weight gain tsunami.
So I will take my 1.2 lb gain "in stride" as it were and set my sights on our next challenge.
A Happy and joy filled New Year to all my challenge friends --
May the Lord bless you and keep you,
May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you,
May the Lord look kindly upon you and give you peace.

Good morning everyone!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!! I am sorry that I am just posting my stats today. The holidays have been so busy that I hadn't had the time to get on the computer. It is great to see all the activity and progress we have made through the holidays.
USW - 193
CSW - 182.7
GW - 187
UGW - 160
So I didn't make the goal I had set for myself, but I did manage to keep losing. I have to say that even gaining a little between the Christmas week still felt really good. Because I know how much more damage I could have done to my diet. I truly enjoyed reading everyone's posts and they definitely kept me motivated to move in the right direction. My wish for the new year is for everyone to be happy and healthy!!!
