Dear fitbitusers,
I just wanted to share my experiences with you along my weight loss journey.
My name is Annenasje and I'm 19 years old .
On december 6 i weighed 74.4 kilos and I wanted to set a goal for myself. That goal became to lose 4.4 kilos so i could start the new year with a 69.9 on my scale.
I weighed myself after one day, and I have had already lost 0.7 kilo. The biggest part of this is mostly just fluids because the day before I ate very very unhealthy and didn't drink that much water. So on december 6 I ate healthy and drank 2 liters of water.
Tomorrow morning (december 12) I'm going to weigh myself again.
The steps I have taken this week are:
Monday : 19.822
Tuesday: 13.377
Wednesday: 16.244
Thursday: 9.377
Friday: 13.470
Saturday: 20.566
I hope you wil enjoy reading about my journey.
Wish me luck xx

I wish you the best of luck, but you have set yourself a very aggresive goal for a short period of time. If you eat well and make some progress that's a good thing. Although if you've gone from a really poor diet to a very good one you may make some initial quick progress. No matter, you'll be eating better and be lighter eventually.

Goodmorning everyone from the Netherlands,
I just weighed myself and weighed ....... 73.4 kilos. Which means I have already lost 1 kilo!!
Yay me right ?
But not to be cheering too soon, i still have 3,5 kilos to go for the rest of the month.
Even if I see on december 31st that I do not weigh my goal of 69.9 kilos I still put an effort in my health and excercise and maybe did lose a little bit of weight.
For today: just relaxing at home and eat healthy, go to work ( I am a waitress so I'll be walking a lot during) and after that I'm going to take a walk with one of my friends to burn those calories.
I wish you all well and a lot of steps

I understand the psychological benefit of starting the new year "in the sixties". However, you may want to have a closer look at the numbers (weight loss is a numbers’ game). It is generally considered you need a deficit of 3500 calories in order to lose 1 pound. 4.4 kg is 9.68 pounds, so if you want to lose that much in three weeks, it’s 3.23 pounds per week. This means you would need a weekly deficit of 3500 x 3.23 = 11293 calories, or a daily deficit of 1613 calories. That’s a lot, especially with the holiday season coming soon.
You can create that deficit by burning more than you eat, or eating less than you burn. Your increased activity certainly helps, but you have to ask yourself whether it’s sustainable over a longer period. Eating "healthy" is also highly commendable, but 1500 calories of healthy food is still 1500 calories: eating healthy food doesn’t change the fact that you still need a deficit in order to lose weight.
What I’m saying is that it’s perfectly OK to take your time with your weight loss, and it’s probably a better idea to lose 4-5 lg in 2-3 months rather than in 3 weeks.
