Valentines Day to April 18th

@Bobbinyc, I hope it's ok for me to plagerize your Christmas to Valentine's Day Topic Starter but it was absolutely perfect!!!

Welcome all Challengers!  What an amazing group we have!

Let's all continue together to take off the excess pounds and keep getting healthier.

This challenge will begin on Valentine's Day and finish on (American) Tax Day - 18 April 2017.   (Really!  It's the 18th this Year, not the 15th!)

All you need to join this challenge is to post your stats regarding your weight, and check in weekly or as often as you'd like. We are a great support group and enjoy keeping up with each other and being there for our ups and downs.  Generally we have found that the more we check in and offer support, tips, info,  and ideas to others, the more we get for ourselves.

We list our weight, as well as any other goals we might have related to being healthy (such as increase water, more active minutes, etc).  Developing good health habits is primary.

A little rundown of terminology for anyone who is new.

USW- Ultimate Starting Weight

CSW- Current Starting Weight (for this challenge)

GW- Goal Weight   (for Feb 14)

UGW- Ultimate Goal Weight   (what your healthy target weight is)

PW- Previous Weight

CW- Current Weight

MFP- My Fitness Pal

List as much info as you like.  Some people include age, gender, height....whatever seems relevant to you.

We keep it as serious or light as we feel, but we always keep it focused on being as healthy as possible, while we support each other kindly.  We can do this together!!

@Amy_Noelle -  Fitbit is actually really good about standing behind their products and replacing it if they go bad. I've gotten free replacements and so have some of my friends. Just do the online chat with them and you can easily get it sorted out. They might even be able to get the one you have currently working again with a reset.

Well today was suppose to be my official weekly weigh in... And I could add my weight, but it wouldn't be on the scale I do my regular weigh in's on.. Lol. I normally weigh on my office scale where I started my journey, but I took off today! My boy had to have some dental work done today. We were at the dentist @7 this morning and then back home by 9:30. He is just resting right now,so I figured I would check in. I will add my official weight tomorrow after I stop by the office and weigh... Lol.

You all were talking about having to buy new clothes.... I know some people would die first, but I personally think the Goodwill is awesome when dieting. You can get smaller sizes at cheaper prices and that makes it more affordable to wear the size that fits each time you go down. I manage a cardiology clinic so I have to dress descently everyday, but there is no way I could afford new clothes for each size, so the Goodwill has been my saving grace!

Congrats to to all who have had a loss, and chin up to any that didn't or remained the same! We got this together. one day at a time! One pound at a time!

@HeartBiller re adjusting to a new clothes size - I do exactly the same as you. We have a great charity shop here in the village and I went there to buy some nice jeans in a smaller size ( initially to see how far I had to go before they would be comfy). They were just a couple of pounds so way cheaper than going to the larger retailers.

After a weekend of not making healthy choices I am up a couple of pounds.

I've been hitting all my step and activity minute goals by a lot. So I'll just keep on plugging along.

Argh!!Smiley Mad  - not a good week!  Cold raining, too much stuff going on.  Having major problems behaving and getting my steps in.  Each Morning wake with good intentions then have a downhill slid, darn it!

I did lose 1.2 last week- so that was a good thing, (but think I found it).

Looking for my Mo-Jo, if you see it send it home!

Ya all take care,

@HeartBiller and everyone else. I mentioned to my mom my issue of standing in front of the mirror and looking like a deflated potato. She took me to our local thrift store and I found pants! I saw PURPLE CORDS and I almost died...purple is my colour...but lo and behold they were too big! They fit in the waist but the legs and butt were too big. I have a big belly. But I did find two pants and a shirt. The shirt is a bit roomy but that's ok. It's too hard to judge sizes now. I tried the pants on but not the shirt. Anyway, I'll know to go there again when these ones get too big and start to fall down. Since it was my birthday, I have a 50% off coupon for the local plus sized store, which means I get to do the horrible task of bra shopping, so I can start looking like I have a shape instead of lumps around my body. That will have to be another day. Very tired and my joints are hurting. Time for new shoes too, I guess. And a nap!

Been a great day so far. Let's keep up the momentum!!

After getting off track with walking for two days due to some requests for help, I turned off my phone this morning, went to the gym, watched a great video for 40 minutes and got almost all my steps.  Came home and had to call the phone/internet company which takes too long and puts me on hold a lot, so I walked the whole time.  Had more than my goal in by 12:30pm. Also did more than my goal for active minutes.  Nice.  It's silly, but I just love when the little things turn green and flash and when my fitbit vibrates with success.  I didn't care about gold stars in first grade but I sure want them now!

@TravellingSunny @_Lilac_ the struggle is real! haha. Just the opposite happened to me this AM—that skirt fit yesterday, but then today I went to pull on my favorite stretchy jeans that I bought at a higher weight and they're totally saggy now! Bummer, as I really liked them, but that's still progress I guess.

Maybe TMI here, but I'm also at this weird phase where the bras I bought at a higher weight don't fit at ALL but I don't fit into my old small bras yet...been a lot of sports bras and stretchy cotton ones lately because nothing with underwire that I own works at my current size! Hahaha. I was very flat-chested at my lowest weight in college and very busty at my highest, hoping that my current reasonable GW leaves at least something there 😂

@Bobbinyc I feel the same way about the stars! haha. It's so funny how that works psychologically. I've never thought of myself as particularly competitive because I'm not very aggressive, but apparently I am when it comes to just getting all the circles green!  I've also been getting obsessive about the 250 steps an hour thing lately—I just want that whole grid filled out! 😂

Just a quick check-in before bed, late again! No change but fat is down half a pound. My water weight is steadily rising now so I probably won't hit my goal until it drops again in a few weeks.

@Bobbinyc I know exactly how you feel about seeing green on the Dashboard. I love it! I also love when the stars come out. My 2 year old even looks at it and says, "Green, good. Blue, nah..."

I think my toddler has been around me too long with my fitbit. He was walking back and forth in the kitchen the other night. When I asked him what he was doing, he said, "Getting my steps out." 🙂

I can't wait for the day I'm ready for new pants. So far, I can tell a big difference in my clothes, but it's that they fit correctly instead of being too tight. They're more comfortable now, and I'm not constantly tugging at them. I've also been able to wear a few pants that I haven't worn in a few months or even a year. It's nice to see and feel the results of consistency.

I'm planning for new walking shoes as a reward for when I hit 199 lbs. I have about 19 lbs to go! 🙂

Congrats on knocking things off by this afternoon. When you hit daily goals early, I find the peace of mind that comes afterwards highly enjoyable. Keep up the good work 🙂

WOOOOOHOOOOOO! Today is not my weekly weigh-in day; however, it is time for an update!! I have officially lost over ten pounds! In fact when I stepped on the scale today, it read 151.0. That is just 0.2 lbs away from being at the halfway point between my USW and UWG #1!

@almost_where  Thanks so much.  It really is such a relief to get it done early.  Then I have the knowledge that whatever else I do is 'extra'.  And, of course, once you start doing more, you may as well raise the goal.  Thanks for being one of the people who is so inspiring.

Well It isn't exactly the weight loss I wanted for this week... BUT I will take any loss and consider it a success. Yesterday started with a rough morning.. I took my grandson for a dental procedure and I think I get as emotional as he does, so we make each other worse..lol. All in all I think we both did good! He wasn't speaking to me for a few hours, because he was mad I made him have it done...lol. But before bed time he was all better and he loved me again..lol. He is a sight!

Being off yesterday, after getting back home with him gave me a chance to do some exercise early. I was so happy to get some in early like @Bobbinyc was saying it was a great feeling. I don't get a chance to do that much with my work schedule, but I sure enjoyed it yesterday!

@_Lilac_  I am glad you got to try a few smaller things on. I won't lie, I go there on a regular basis,, just to try on things to see what I can and can't wear. I love being able to fit in a smaller size. I haven't done the bra shopping yet. I need to but keep putting it off. I am like @meg5168 the more I lose in weight..lol, the more I lose there too, but I am comfortable with what ever it take to get this weight off..lol.

@nightswimmingMajor congrats on being so close to your goal. That is an inspiration to all.

@em.kzCongrats on your victory. I know how exciting each one is!
