@Bobbinyc, I hope it's ok for me to plagerize your Christmas to Valentine's Day Topic Starter but it was absolutely perfect!!!
Welcome all Challengers! What an amazing group we have!
Let's all continue together to take off the excess pounds and keep getting healthier.
This challenge will begin on Valentine's Day and finish on (American) Tax Day - 18 April 2017. (Really! It's the 18th this Year, not the 15th!)
All you need to join this challenge is to post your stats regarding your weight, and check in weekly or as often as you'd like. We are a great support group and enjoy keeping up with each other and being there for our ups and downs. Generally we have found that the more we check in and offer support, tips, info, and ideas to others, the more we get for ourselves.
We list our weight, as well as any other goals we might have related to being healthy (such as increase water, more active minutes, etc). Developing good health habits is primary.
A little rundown of terminology for anyone who is new.
USW- Ultimate Starting Weight
CSW- Current Starting Weight (for this challenge)
GW- Goal Weight (for Feb 14)
UGW- Ultimate Goal Weight (what your healthy target weight is)
PW- Previous Weight
CW- Current Weight
MFP- My Fitness Pal
List as much info as you like. Some people include age, gender, height....whatever seems relevant to you.
We keep it as serious or light as we feel, but we always keep it focused on being as healthy as possible, while we support each other kindly. We can do this together!!

@Amy_Noelle Deep sympathy for your loss of your young friend. That is tragic.
Please take care of yourself and hug your family and friends.
Let yourself cry your head off if you feel the need to release your pain.
We never know what will happen in life but we usually don't expect to lose young friends. Very sorry to hear about it.
Warm hugs,
Barbara G

@Amy_Noelle - I'm so sorry for your loss, hon. Nobody would dare blame you for not following your typical routine at a time like this. Take care of yourself in whatever way you need to, and know that you can pick it back up when you're ready. (((hugs)))

Congrats on your new bike. Sounds like your dog will need to learn not to run in front of the wheels. About weight on tires, there are specs. on max. weight either in the paper work with the bike or online. Definitely there are bikes and tires to accommodate you.
Enjoy the bike riding. I tried out my bike after 20 years and still could ride.
Take care,
Barbara G

welcome back and stay strong. Your ball isn't far away. I too gain and finally got back to a loss the AM. Frustrating but my deadline is on Mar 28 to fit in my ballgown with less belly popping out.
cw 148.9 lbs.
gw 145 on Mar 25
gw 142 on Apr 18
Now to do this and just drink water when I want to visit the frig.. I logged this AM and will be eating out with a friend for her birthday. Logging is a struggle for me as it takes time and attention to detail. I can see if entrees calories are on line for the restaurant.
Best to everyone on eating healthfully and in the right portions,
Barbara G

@dancefoxtrot There is that saying that you can never forget how to ride a bike. Haha. This one is going to be like being 5 yrs old again. It has no hand brakes, no gears for shifting. It's just a cruiser with the pedal brakes. It will be fun. I even have a cute basket for my water bottle!

I have had such an incredible day. Beyond buying my new bike, which I've discussed at length, my daughter and I were having a chat on messenger and she was saying that she wants to go away somewhere. I think the stress of the last two months of university before graduating is getting to her! We chatted a bit and within the hour we had bus tickets bought and a fancy swanky hotel booked for a weekend getaway! Wow...we never do spontaneous things!! We are going to visit the coastal city where I went to school, where I had my kids, and still have friends. I will feel like a pauper in a palace in that hotel, but they'll just have to deal! LOL. They'll take money from me, I'm sure.
Since I'm travelling, I'll have to be careful about food choices. We are going to be right downtown so we will walk everywhere we go. Market, museum, and there are HILLS. I'm so excited. This is the first time in several years I'll be physically able to do something like this. The hotel has wifi so I'll be able to check in!

@_Lilac_- enjoy your weekend getaway. I actually don't mind traveling for business. We book decent business class hotels and I kind of love that someone makes up my bed and tidies up after me each day. I'm supposed to be traveling again later this month. I know the hotel I'm going to book into and I can actually bring my dinners and snacks. Last time I used it as an excuse to eat what I wanted, but for a full week I think I'm going to pack up some stuff. The room has a mini fridge, but no microwave. I'm going to be a little more organized than if I was just away for a couple of days.

@RachelShrinks @meg5168 Sorry to hear you're suffering with PF. I suffered with it in both feet for a year and what finally helped was using night splints. I noticed an improvement after the first night. I used them for about 6 weeks and haven't had problems since. If you haven't already tried them it might be worth a shot. I found them at Wal-Mart for $25 each.

@_Lilac_ That is awesome. I find there is nothing like a bit of travel to lift the spirits. It is one of my favourite things to do. My hubby and I gave up buying birthday gifts a few years back and just go on trips instead.
Have a wonderful time with your daughter

Glad to see you in here, @SunsetRunner!
I like how you're including your BMIs. That's neat. I think I'll start doing it as well. It'll really be embarrassing, but that's ok. I was embarrassed to admit my weight at first. Now, I know that I'm not the Lone Ranger!!!
Good Luck and lots of perseverance in getting back into those illusive 32" waist Pants!!!

Thanks @BLLingg !
My beer gut is my nemesis, thus the crazy notion to cut out beer for a while.
I must say, even though my weight hasn't changed much at all, I feel a LOT better.

TGIF! I am ready for a weekend. Long work week, Nasty weather week, freezing rain and major winds! too darn cold to do much.
SO - trying to get on board with my Lent plan to not give in to moods and temptations -- yesterday was good, today- donuts at the office so i only took 1/4 of one verse the jelly filled one that was calling my name.
Got my weekend plans made and hoping the weather will agree - would like to be able to post a weight loss and that I made my step goals --
Hoping to be warm-- have a good weekend all. thanks for all your sharing.

and your liver is singing your praises. Good choice and if you don't replace the carbs with other carbs you will lose weight.

@_Lilac_ Kick the pauper story to the curb. It is a lie. You are rich in spirit, talent and compassion so hold your head high and enjoy your stay. Wear nice clothes and know that you are a worthy person inside.
Enjoy,
Barbara
