Valentines Day to Easter Challenge 2016

Welcome to the next challenge! Smiley Very Happy

This one will run from Valentines day to Easter, so from February 14th to March 27th. Everyone and anyone can join this challenge in which we all set our own weight loss goals, this gives us 7 weeks in total to work towards them! Smiley Happy

This group of lovely people provides encouraging support and words of advice as we all share our experiences, good and bad. It has proved beyond helpful to myself and many others as we become healthier and achieve amazing things.

To be part of the challenge you start by posting your initial weight stats and what you would like to achieve by the end of the challenge. You can then check in as often as you'd like with a weight update, to share a story from your week or start a conversation about a topic you'd like some advice on.

So excited for us to keep working towards our goals with the fantastic friends from the last challenges and a big 'Hello!' to all the challenge newbies! Smiley Very Happy

Thank you @awood08 for kicking off the last challenge! Smiley Very Happy

@ndervis,

Yes!  It's peanuts, but hey, if you gather enough peanuts, you can make peanut butter!  Like I said, it's how I purchased my Charge.  Just get the GymPact app...and don't miss the workouts you say you will do--those will cost you!!

Hey @Tasha91,

I don't know, but it may very well be.  Just look and see.  Oh, and btw, you don't have to do your workouts at a gym.  I've done them at hotels (I travel semi frequently) at pools around the country, and at home!  It is partnered with fitbit and a running app I use called Runkeeper, so anything you can do on those apps--A LOT--is credited on GymPact.  It is a GREAT app!  In fact, it and an app called Shopkick, which pays me to shop (!!)--my third favorite thing to do after working out and eating--are my favorite apps!  One of my goals in life is to defy the old claim that I can't squeeze blood from a turnip.  We'll just see about that!

Hey @kmme,

Good job, and I'm glad you are better.  Will you share the particulars (of your liquid fast)?  You sound as crazy as I am, and I know our goals are similar.  Btw, have you ever "gone to banana island" (as I call it)?  You eat only bananas for a given amount of time (the most I've done is 3 or 4 days).  I guess you can eat whatever you want, but for some reason bananas work well for me.  (Hahaha...look!  I'm eating a banana in my photo!)  It is an extremely quick way to take off weight if you can counteract the boredom that ensues after about a day and a half...lol.

@swimr12265 ,

 I don't know if we are crazy or just unconventional...Lol .  It works for me though , so that's all that matters.  As for my fast , i allow myself up to 100 calories per day , only because i need my coffee and i can not drink it black , so i can have Almond milk in it . I would love to do a water fast , maybe 1 day i can try without coffee but no-one would want to see me i'm a bear without it , i quit smoking recently so it's all i have left .

I usually update on Wednesday, and I did so yesterday, but I need to do another update!

Yesterday I was 174.9 which put my BMI at 30 - the bottom number of "obese" for me.

Today I was 174.4 and according to fitbit my BMI is now 29.9.  So just "overweight!"  Yay!

Probably I'll be obese again tomorrow, but still!

Congrats @KimShea!  Great work!

I didn't check in earlier this week (on sunday).  I maintained this week.  And now, today, my fitbit bit the dust!  The fitbit help desk was awesome and a new one will be here next week; but going to make the rest of this week a bit more challenging.

I have been a bit off track; and maintained for about 3 weeks now; so this week I have hit it hard and counted every little bite!  I expect more success this sunday.

I am going to just use an older step tracker I had, but it's not the same as the fitbit!   🙂  Congrats folks and keeping going downward!

Hey everyone,

Sorry I haven't updated. I'm still learning how to use this website. But I just got back into working out and now have lost 2.2lbs. I'm finally out of the 230s. Today I weighed myself and I'm 228.2. Focused on getting to 210 by easter. Make sure you guys say hi to me. Smiley Happy

Great job @KimShea!! I can't wait until I get under the obese range also. I am coming up on it!!

I haven't posted at all. I keep reading everyones updates in my email though. 🙂

I started at 189! I am down to 184-5ish. I am working hard because I also joined a dietbet. Gotta win my money back! lol. But today was a bad day. I ate awful.. mcdonalds, burger king with a reeses pie. Sigh. But I will pick myself back up and do better for dinner. And workout hard tonight!  Smiley Happy

I am currently doing Jenny Craig. My goal is a minimum of 10,000 steps a day and 10 flights of stairs and an average of 1300 calories a day. I am down 21 lb since September. I have arthritis in my knees so I have to find some steep slope to get in the flights as it usually hurts to much to walk up alot of stairs.

Today was a good day. I have 16,925 steps and 53 flights 🙂

I would like to loose 5lb in this challenge 🙂

Hi all Smiley Happy

Checking in a couple of days early as we have a bit of a hectic weekend planned.

I was starting to feel a bit disheartened these last few weeks as I continued to exercise & eat healthy but I wasn't seeing any progress, still I stuck at it. All the workweek hustles, goal days & weekend warrior challenges have helped massively with keeping me focused so a big thanks guys & gals for the invites. Smiley Very Happy

I have been stuck at 133lbs, or 9st 7lbs, for over a month but thankfully this morning I hopped on the scales & finally saw that 7 turn into a 6! Hooray! I'm gonna try & lose 1 more pound before we go away next week hopefully so another week to kick my own butt into shape haha!

Hope you all have fab weekends!

Under 220 for the first time since 2013. Only 'strategy' change has been more HIIT as I feel fitter plus more time between meals (total cals about the same). My wife will be happy if I can stay abt 220 'forever' 🙂  Rob K

Here we go... time for me to check in.  I try to do this on Friday since it makes me more concious of calories over a weekend when I know I will weigh again on Monday (can't see a jump!).  I will have the grandbabies this weekend and girl scouts start cookie booths this weekend (I have my granddaughter in girl scouts).  We will be running and I probably won't have a lot of time for cooking...  "baby" weekends are hard on my waist line!
