Welcome to the next challenge!
This one will run from Valentines day to Easter, so from February 14th to March 27th. Everyone and anyone can join this challenge in which we all set our own weight loss goals, this gives us 7 weeks in total to work towards them!
This group of lovely people provides encouraging support and words of advice as we all share our experiences, good and bad. It has proved beyond helpful to myself and many others as we become healthier and achieve amazing things.
To be part of the challenge you start by posting your initial weight stats and what you would like to achieve by the end of the challenge. You can then check in as often as you'd like with a weight update, to share a story from your week or start a conversation about a topic you'd like some advice on.
So excited for us to keep working towards our goals with the fantastic friends from the last challenges and a big 'Hello!' to all the challenge newbies!
Thank you @awood08 for kicking off the last challenge!
A little rundown of terminology for anyone who is new:
USW- Ultimate Starting Weight
CSW- Current Starting Weight

Hello, Everyone! This is the Big Friday, the day when Jesus Christ died on the cross and payed the penalty for our sins. I hope you take time to contemplate on His sacrifice and to thank Him for His great love for us.
On another topic, I am happy to report that today I just met my Easter goal. Here is the report:
Thank you @saraj91 for initiating this great challenge! It was a pleasure reading everyone's reports and words of encouragement. I rejoice in your victories, as well as I do in mine. I am looking forward to our next challenge. I want to thank my FitBit Friends for being an inspiration and great example to me. I hope we can connect again in the next challenge.
Happy Easter to you all!

Closing out the challenge on a gain and without meeting my goal. 😞 But on the positive side, I lost 4 pounds over this challenge, so I'll call it a win. I really want to get into the 140s but I'm feeling confident that I'll get there in the next challenge; I knew it was a stretch for this one.
Happy Easter to everyone!

Yes ma'am! About the freezing - I got all my tips from one of the members of these challenges who has been sick - Bobbi. I guess I do as I'm told. She had me making big pots of things. Then when it cools, I put it into a double serving size container. I use glass containers. I was told not to use plastic bags or containers as they are bad for the environment and plastic leaches into our food. I might have 10 in the freezer at once. That means I can ease up on big grocery shopping and cooking when I have no time. I usually take it out of the freezer and put it in the fridge a day or two before I plan to eat it. Don't leave food sitting out too long. She could tell you the rules about that. You learn how long things take to thaw. I don't microwave food - some studies say it's ok, some say it kills nutrients. I'm not going to be eating all these vegetables and lentils just to kill off the nutrition. This plan got me more organized, but takes up less time. And now there is no room in the freezer for the usual gallons of ice cream.

It has definitely helped to be part of this. It was the first time I had ever joined a support group and it kept me on task. The night before last I went and got my gym keytag and have now at least started! I hope to have the mindset to work on conditioning and weight loss. The BMI chart says for a 6 foot male I should be 140-180 lbs ideally - so I am going to set my UGW to the high side 180. This makes it 26 Lbs to go - so bring on the next challenge!!
USW- 224 (2-1-2015)

GW = 209 (for 3/27)
PW - 207

Hi all,
I too gained from 139 to 142.9 as of this AM during this challenge. Hopefully it will be a little lower tomorrow AM. I'm not able to dance as much as usual as I'm in PT and need to let my knee heal.
I'm still in the healthy BMI range at 22.4 right now. I hope to get back down to 135 in this next challenge. Eating healthfully is most important and I do that.
Healthy is good and I'm learning patience and how important it is to stay active to burn the calories daily.
Off to vacuum and work on a bedroom for a new tenant now.
Glad for all our challengers whether you hit, beat or missed this goal. Join us in the next challenge and let's keep getting healthier.
Best,
Barbara G

Love that you won't feed your kids poorly. So important for them to get a good start. My mom did that for me and we had 100% whole wheat cereal and bread, brown rice and lentils and lots of veggies,
Bobbi's soup freezing in glass is so wise. I make bean & veggie soups and freeze them too.
Enjoy,
Barbara G

Hope the biopsy is benign. Keeping busy is wise. My parents are gone too.
Hope that you stay calm. Weight loss is up and down so don't despair over a small gain or plateau. It will happen over time if you stick with the healthy eating.
Best,
Barbara G

@scottie0714, splenda is worse than sugar (it's chemical, and very bad for us). Have you tried Stevia instead? It is natural, and has zero cals. Keep up the good work. I lost 22 lbs. since I got my fit-bit on Jan. 7 (11 lbs on the Valentine Challenge and about 11 lbs. in the Easter Challenge). I am so encouraged. I just sat a new 10 lbs. loss goal by May 12.
Keep it up. friend! Happy Easter!

@Elle0904, I am surprised that you did not loose more with all the walk you did. Are you logging your food? Did you enter your goal on this app, so that Fit-bit can calculate your cal in-take vs. burn out? From what I understand, the calories you are taking in are healthy ones. Right? Since I joined the Fit-bit community, on Jan 7, I lost 22 lbs., and I only walked about three times/week for 30 minutes (fast walk). But I reduced my portion size and made my meal 3/4 veggies (raw or cooked), 1/4 meat, and 1/4 starch (usually oatmeal or cereal). No bread, potatoes, rice, or pasta.
I don't have the time and energy to work out as much as you do, but changing my diet, reducing the portion size, and walking three times a week for 30 minutes has helped me immensely. I am so encouraged by the results. I hope you will have better results in the next challenge.
Happy Easter, my friend!

Thanks, @HelenKr! You did well, too. I'm going to try to catch up with you (smile). You are way ahead of me. I just sat a new goal of 10 lbs. loss by May 12. Cross my fingers!
Happy Easter, my Friend, and best wishes on your next goal.

So I suprised myself by missing the target, which could be due to a number of things, such as too many weights, not enough steps, or too many "bad" calories, but I suspect it could be my scales making me complacent last week.
I would like to think that I can get to my UGW within 5 weeks, as I wouldn't mind a glass of wine now and then, but all in all I have lost 27lbs since 25/1/16 so all is not bad. I have stuck to no alcohol, and given that my employers have gone into administration and I have had to find another position, so there has been a lot going on, and too much uncertainty.
New job starts the week after next, and the new weight is a "work in progress".
I am committed to the sessions in the gym, as I can see the long term benefits and I can see a lot of positives coming from it.
I know that the 13lbs lost during this challenge is not as much as I would have liked, but I know that I have lost more fat than that.
I am thoroughly looking forward to the next challenge, and equally look forward to the posts and updates along the way.
A link would be good to the next challenge and hopefully there will be some familiar names along with many new.
Happy Easter !!
