Welcome to the next challenge!
This one will run from Valentines day to Easter, so from February 14th to March 27th. Everyone and anyone can join this challenge in which we all set our own weight loss goals, this gives us 7 weeks in total to work towards them!
This group of lovely people provides encouraging support and words of advice as we all share our experiences, good and bad. It has proved beyond helpful to myself and many others as we become healthier and achieve amazing things.
To be part of the challenge you start by posting your initial weight stats and what you would like to achieve by the end of the challenge. You can then check in as often as you'd like with a weight update, to share a story from your week or start a conversation about a topic you'd like some advice on.
So excited for us to keep working towards our goals with the fantastic friends from the last challenges and a big 'Hello!' to all the challenge newbies!
Thank you @awood08 for kicking off the last challenge!
A little rundown of terminology for anyone who is new:
USW- Ultimate Starting Weight
CSW- Current Starting Weight
GW- Goal Weight
UGW- Ultimate Goal Weight

Hey Guys --
I'm in again -- with a Lenten caveat, I'll explain below. First, I'm going to close out our last challenge:
USW 184
CSW 171.2
GW 167
CW 166
UGW 164 (subject to downward revision)
Yes, I closed a pound below my goal -- HUZZAH!!!
Now my stats for this challenge:
USW 184
CSW 166
GW 160
UGW 150 (subject to downward revision)
Yes, I'm changing my short-term ultimate goal weight. I will revise it downward again as I get closer to it. Just helps to look at a number my mind registers as doable.
Anyway, onto the Lenten caveat. I won't be posting comments during Lent, though I will report my stats once a week. I just don't want to confuse Lenten fasting with dieting -- which my little chickadee brain can so easily do. So this is me signing off until Easter, so you all don't think I've just dropped out.
Meanwhile, thanks to saraj91 for starting us off & to awood08 for the starting gun on the last one.
Thanks to all my good friends -- swimr12265, samalama217, Ellie, Chiz1997
Jocy50 (remember if you don't quit, you don't fail. You will get there!!!), HelenKr (really glad to see you back -- hope you're toe is better) -- you guys keep me going.
Welcome to all our newcomers -- you will find good people here -- lots of good counsel and support and a laugh or two when you need it.
Don't forget me! I'm not forgetting you. I'll be back on the far-side of Easter by God's grace -- hopefully lighter -- in more ways than one.

Yeoww !! Lots of us all ready to get healthier and thinner.
139 lbs CW
134 GW and UGW
UG is to maintain it.
Here are notes from a program I just watched and hope they help.
I'm listening and watching PBS show "Eat Fat, Get Thin" with Dr. Mark Hyman, MD. He eats and advocates mostly plant food like veggies, nuts and some fruit, avocados, eggs, fatty fish like salmon, a little grass fed meat, very low sugar and no refined carbs. He likes olive and coconut oil and even a little butter. Avoids breads, pasta, cake and cookies, of course. Eat slow carbs that are in non-starchy veggies, he says. Eat good quality protein. He avoids dairy also. Bad bugs in our guts can cause illness and slow weight loss, so probiotics help. PGX helps weight loss as well, he said.
Well enough notes from this great program.
Today starting weight is 139 lbs., bmi is 21.9 and my next goal is 134 and KEEP IT THERE !!!!
Welcome all. We can do this together, and we have 6 weeks to Easter. 1 lb -1.5 lb loss a week is reasonable and possible to do. We need to reduce 500-750 cals a day to do this. Eliminate empty sugar and carbs like soda and bread, candy, cookies, pasteries and assorted junk. No excuses.
Come here and post if you are frustrated, bummed, feeling weak or feeling fine, great and on top of it.
We are supportive and some times inspiring,
Best to all in this next 6 weeks,
Barb G

I'm going to make another stab at a challenge! Today seems like a perfect time to start one, although the real work begins tomorrow. I've had my Fitbit for just over a year, and while I do fairly well at steps my weight has stayed constant over the last year because I didn't put much effort or thought into what I was doing. Now as February passes the 1/2 way point with spring just around the corner I'm facing yet another summer of being about 100lbs overweight. I ended a long-term relationship of about five-and-a-half years almost a month ago. The breakup was incredibly friendly and mutual, which is always nice when it happens that way, but it has started to change the way I think about things and has opened my eyes to the way I've treated my body. So now begins my challenge.
USW - 257lbs (today)
CSW - 257lbs (today)
GW - 243 (goal by Easter, 1.5-2lbs per week is not unreasonable)
*** UGW - 160lbs (clearly a very, very, very long-term goal)

Hello all! Hope you all had lovely valentines weekends!
Welcome back to all the familiar faces from previous challenges & it is great to see so many new people join in with this group!
Checking in with my starting stats for this challenge. I didn't quite make my goal in the last challenge & as I am on holiday for a good chunk of this one I am going to be realistic with my new goals.
I want to try all sorts of food & drink whilst we are away so with that in mind I am going to work my butt off over the next 2 weeks & try to get down to my revised goal from the last challenge of 130lbs. Then when we are away I am sure we will be doing a lot of walking & sightseeing & I'm taking my running gear as my sister-in-law says there are some wonderful running spots in Melbourne that she thinks I'd like . So hopefully I can go away & enjoy the food without worrying about the scales. Then I think when I get back if I am around the same weight (my 130 goal) or even a few lbs higher I won't be all too bothered as I know the holiday will be totally worth it.
Hope you all have a great week!
USW 23/3: 186
CSW 14/2: 133
GW 27/3: 130
