Weekly Weigh IN and Weight Watchers

ANSWERED

I started Weight watchers and have lost some, but think it might be good to take ba break from going to the meetings every week, does anyone else think about this?

I like them, but feel a good solution would be to take a month off, and weigh and write my weight here.  Also, I think I can subscribe to their APP for less price for the month.

This is a great idea coming here to weigh in. Thanks.  Anyone else thinking of this? Using the WW App that syncs here with fitbit?

@ElizabethfitOne other thing you need to realize is that if you quit paying the app will not work for you. It is a paid for app

Hi Elizabeth,

I paying for the online WW but I'm not using the points.  Back in January I did a little experiment.  I track points at WW and tracked calories with my app "My Net Diary".  I wanted to see which one I liked better.  Counting calories over counting points won.  I just felt like it was less restrictive.  (I'm not trying to put down the points system though.) One of my favorite lunches is 14 points but only 348 calories.

I've been doing great with the My Net Diary/Fitbit combo and have averaged 2 lbs a week for the past 7 weeks.  🙂

I went to cancel WW at the end of January but they offered me a free month.  Now that is almost up.  But I'm really tempted to keep the online WW because I LOVE "Connect" so much.  It's such a positive and inspiring place.  I would really miss it if I couldn't see it.

But to answer your question..... I don't think it's bad to stop going to meetings for a while.  You do whatever works best for you.

As far as syncing, I sync with "My Net Diary" and not WW, but I see plenty of people that do sync with it.  🙂

I think everyone is different.

I love my Meetings but I have also made many freinds in the meeting. We all talk before hand and have a good time. We share things.

But if its not for you thats good too. You need to find what works for you

the meetings are fine, i haven't made any connections there, and usually I find someone at a group to do that.I do like and believe groups work well to motivation, etc.  Just feeling like i need a break from showing up on Wed. night after work, it takes a while to get there, etc. etc. Needing a break Thanks.

@Elizabethfit - there are a couple of different weigh in threads here.  The two most used are the short-time challenge (current one runs until April 18th) and the weekly weigh in.  Both are stickied at the top of the page.  You could easily post in either (or both) of those threads.

I did well on WW, but didn't really get too much from the meetings. Our leader focused on reading the little magazine and I felt like I wasn't really learning anything or gaining much from the group.

I think the biggest help to me was keeping the food log and the weekly weigh-in. I just dropped my membership and started with Fitbit today. I was hoping to find some people interested in doing a weekly weigh-in and I'm going to use the Fitbit food log for now to see if it works.

Check out the "My Net Diary" app for tracking food.  It's awesome and super easy to use.  They do charge to sync with your Fitbit though.  I think it's $60 for the year.  But I love how they work together so I figure I'm worth the $5.00 a month.  I don't think the app "My Fitness Pal" charges to sync with Fitbit so check that one out too.
