I am absolutely in love with my birth control, seasonique, but I cannot loose any weight while taking this medication! I do not want to switch because I like the benefits this gives me compared to other options. Any suggestions here? I am shooting in the blind with this topic but I am sure I am not the only women with this problem!

I would ask your DR. Its been years for me taking them. But I do remember it was very hard at first to lose but then once the body got use to taking them it came off. It did take a while there.
But ask your DR for some suggestions

I'm no expert, but my impression is that getting off of birth control can be associated with rapid weight gain.

Right! I also have the same thought.

Not to mention unusual food cravings and nausea upon waking.

I would log every bite, weigh and measure portion/serving and not eat out for a month. Find some sort of program that works with your lifestyle so you have a balanced way of eating. If you have soda or diet soda or drink alcohol, stop for 30 days.
If nothing happens scale wise in that 30 days, you will have a good log for your doctor to review. Mostly though people underestimate what they eat and overestimate the benefit of activity.
