Weight Loss: 80+ pounds to lose!!

Hi, I'm new to the site and I have tried unsuccessfully to lose weight and keep it off. I've come to the conclusion that I need lots and lots of support and motivation to actually be successful and make this life style change stick! I need buddies to help me through my wt. loss journey! If you are out there and in the same boat give me a shout out and we can work together and help each other be more successful!!!!!

@lee123 at least you picked yourself up and did something! We all have those blah days, I know how you feel. You are motivated though, because if you weren't you would have not cared one bit about it. Great job!!!

I am so disappointed that I didn't get out to do my walk today. Just too much other stuff going on with starting school and such. It is frustrating though. I am making sure I go out tomorrow. But, You did a great job getting going. It may not be as much as you want, but every little bit helps.

Hi there.  Great job on the walking!  This nicer weather sure makes it more of an incentive for me to walk!  Unfortunately I have a horrible upper respiratory cold going on and feel awful!  My throat feels like I swallowed glass, my sinuses are totally messed up, and I have a nasty cough.  It's still on the cold side here in Wa state.  Low 50's so I'm trying to stay indoors until this cold goes away.  With that said...it's hard to get in all my steps.  I've been doing pretty well on the calorie intake and getting tons of water/hot tea.  I'm down almost 3 lbs this week 🙂  A drop in the bucket, but I'll take it!  I hope every one else is doing well.  Enjoy your day!

Hi, I'm Becky.  I had over 80 lbs to lose, now I have 60 to lose. I have struggled with food issues all my life.  I just started  a group called "Eating Disorders/Food Addictions" for those who struggle with controlling their eating.  If you feel you might have a problem in this area, come check us out:

Hi All!

I just bought my Fitbit yesterday, and today is my first full day with it.  I'm still deciding what goals to set etc.

Long term...I'd like to lose close to 100 lbs.  I have no timetable to it, just a goal to get there and be healthy.

Right now I'm starting with moving more.  I have my goals there, and once that is regular I will dig in on the food.  I know myself, and I have to take it slow.

So step one....move more and get that to be a regular thing for 1 week.  Also increase water.

Step 2....examime food intake using a journaling approach and cut food intake down.

From there....I'll pick step 3.

I want to do this, and I have to do this.  Wearing my Fitbit is a visual reminder for me that I've commited to this and I have to do it.

Congratulations! Getting started is the biggest step. Just work at something everyday and you will get there.

Hey All, hope everyone is having an OK week! I have been doing allright. I made it through my first full week back at the office since my knee replacement about 11 weeks ago. Today it is a bit sore but I still consider it all a victory.

The tough thing is that I find I can do really well with my eating habits at work but then when I get home it tends to go downhill a bit. It seems in the afternoon that awful craving for sugar kicks in. That is the thing I need to work on the most.

I also cant wait until me knee is feeling well enough to not only handle just getting through the day walking, but doing some extra cardio and weights more often so I can bump up my step count.

I gotta say that everyone is really an inspiration and I am happy to have found this group Cat Very Happy!!

feeling much better now that I did my workout (knew I would) but didn't reach my VAM goal. as a warmup i did the stairs 5x's and then again 5x's as a cool down so i at least got that goal accomplished

That is awesome considering you didnt really feel like it. The hardest part sometimes (or most times for me!) is getting started. Once I get started doing something then I feel good and I can convince myself most times to do a little more. But if I talk myself out of it before I even start then I am sunk. Great job!

Hi, I'm with you. I have lost a lot of weight and end up gaining it back. In 2008, I lost 70 lbs and swore never to get big again but here I am. I am almost 70 lbs overweight and work in the security field. I need to run and fight and I am sooooooooo tired of being called fat by the psychos I deal with. My real self is an athlete but at 203 I am having a hard time finding that person. I am so depressed that the weight comes off so slow. I am trying so hard. But I have vowed that by next year, when I turn 50, I will be fitter than I ever.I am determined to reach that goal. Keep on keepin on. You can do it. We dont have to be supermodels, just health and comforable in our own skin.

Hi Alecia

I'm  new too and also would like to Eliminate 85 lbs!.  I'm starting with the mind set that I am elimiating the weight not loosing weight because I loose it I can find it.  Done with that game!

So far fit bit has given me the reality of what I'm eating.  I've been in denial.  I'm working on Dr Furhman's diet. taking baby steps.  I've eliminated soda, I eat 5 fruits a day and a salad for lunch.  The salad is filled with vegies, sometimes fruit and sometimes meat.  I'm feeling more energetic just by those steps alone.

I need to increase my activity so I've joined a hiking group, got out my beach cruiser and bought T25.

I also need the push to keep my plan of action in action!

We can do this
