Hello everyone! I am starting my first day using my Fitbit Flex and I am so excited to see if this tool will help me succeed! I'm on a 30 day "Whole30" plan and i'm using the FB for motivation and goal completion.
How successful has the Fitbit been for you? Can anyone suggest anything that will help?
I'm looking to meet some of you with a similar weight loss goal and motivate each other along the way.

I have had great luck with using fitbit in conjunction with LoseIt!. I have lost 22lbs so far and have started running too, using one of the couch-to-10k apps for my smartphone. Don't know what the Whole 30 is but hopefully it works for you! I find that different things/tricks/strategies work for different people (I could never, for example, do the paleo diet thing).

Thanks for the positive feedback about your weight loss! I'm excited for you and for what is to come my way. I'll have to look up the couch-to-10k app, sounds interesting. It's been about a year since I've done ANY consistent exercise and i'm feeling so broken down becuase of that. Life, ya know?! Anyway, I'm on Day 1. 1 day at a time. I'm treating exercise and eating right just like an AA program! Thanks 🙂

I've found myself just being more active to reach my step goal for the day. I'll run or walk in place duing TV comercials, or while walking the dog and she stops to just sniff I'll walk in place. It's great for the times when I'm just sitting on my butt! Plus, the challenges with friends are always fun!

Congratulations on your weight loss! Fitbit has really helped me be more mindful of being active! I hate to only see two or three dots on that thing. While the activity is important weight loss is mostly about eating the right amount of the right food for your body so sometimes it takes a while to figure that out. I'm not familar with Whole 30 but wish you succes on your journey!

Tomorrow I start Whole30. Today was a warm up day. I used artficial sugar (Xylitol) in my coffee and iced tea, but otherwise was on the program all day. Tomorrow I go cold turkey with any added sugar or sugar substitute. I just installed fitbit and have been tracking my food with LoseIt for a couple of weeks now. I've ditched the regular sugar for the last week, but I love those artificial ones and hate coffee and tea black.
