I've spent the last year trying to get in shape (and only just got a fitbit for Christmas so I'm all lonely without any friends!) One of the big things when I was heavier (max weight of 131kg @ 5"10/178cm) was that I was scared to go places and do things because I would look back on pictures of myself from then and be really upset and embarrassed.
But this February 1st I'm going to Japan! Before I go, and as part of a New Years personal challenge, I want to lose 5kg! Does anyone have a similar monthly goal or holiday-prep experiences??
It is primarily a snowboarding holiday so I'll be working off a bit of what I put in, but if anybody has good tips for keeping healthy while on holidays I'd really appreciate it!

Eat when hungry until feeling comfortably satisfied, not stuffed. See which foods benefits your body the most of all available food choices, and which looks most appealing to have.
If not so hungry, but having the opportunity to eat something more, a fresh salad could do.. trying listening to your precious body when eating, what it wants, possible how much? Feeling satisfied with portion of choosing, some food left on the plate, or feeling needing to have a bit more..
When feeling needing to force feed yourself in the moment, trust your body, and wait until it's ready for more nourishment..
Your precious body will tell you when needing more with increasing appetite / hunger signals. When ignoring, possible sending on a food hunt and any foods available look good to have when foods are in sight. Recognize if this happens, try having nutritious rich foods first when desired (fruits,..), nature intended us to have as minimal as processed.. leaving satisfied for longer, on lower calories overall..
Your body is always there for you, settle in at it's healthiest happy weight range automatically when trying listening to mostly. It tell you when hungry, or not needing more (can be out of whack if eating junk foods mostly instead of natural foods).. regain trust can take a while, but it's worth it.
Exercise because it's fun to do, not to burn off extra eaten calories.. it's possible already ate less than logged, or ate more than logged, or since calorie counting isn't 100% accurate.. eaten less over time, your body asking for more food being hungry.. not wanting to starve.
Allow to eat when hungry, until feeling not needing more. Hunger is a battle we can't win, it's your body protecting you.. though when eating, make the healthiest choices possible at the moment.
Have Fun
