Weight Watchers - Smart Points

How many people here are on Weight Watchers and specifically, how many are following Smart Points?  How do you like it so far?  I'm finding it tougher, but that is paying off at the scale, so I like that!

@mcrmama Agree completely!  There are way too many earned to use them.  I was also told that they are not recommending that they be converted to daily Smart Points because they want exercise to be done as a good health measure and not to qualify for more food, as they used to do with activity points.  The new formulas don't allow for that conversion like the Points Plus did.

@SusanKB  I really like the following:

Skinnytaste.com

Emilybites.com

Great meal ideas there and wonderful recipes.  I have not been disappointed in any I have tried and most make enough for leftovers, which work great for lunch.

@Maura-CA  - thanks for the suggestions on the websites as well.  I will have to check those out.  I am an accountant and heading into tax season so will be harder to get the time to look at the neat sites and meet my goals the next while.  Lowering my targets the next while so I can feel successful and hope to come ou tthe other side without gaining any weight and finish getting back to maintenance weight over the summer.  Still hoping for a few more lbs before April though, lol.

Yes, that's the way to do it!  Set a time on Sunday  and prepare several meals for your lunch and breakfast.  Use a calendar or a weekly planner and write down what you want to eat each day.  I work where we do not have a cafe, but only a breakroom.  Everyone brings their breakfast and lunch, so we have a big refridge!  Also, remember to bring with you fruits and low cal snacks so that you won't feel deprived...You can always search youtube for meal ideas and even at the meetings...Good Luck!

@mcrmama Such a busy time of year for you!  A lot of the recipes are pretty easy too!  A few favorites - bubble up pizza and bubble up enchiladas from Emilybites.com and chicken parmesan from Skinny Taste.  My boys also love the steak sandwiches with peppers and onions from Skinnytaste.com.

Happy tax season to you!

@CarrieSue32 Yes!  It's so nice to have snacks and lunch ready at work and not have to go out or be tempted by office snacks - candy, donuts, etc.  Plus, making meals ahead of time is fun!  I like mason jar salads a lot right now.

@SusanKB I'm trying a few new ones each weekend with the hopes of rotating healthy, yummy meals on a regular basis.

I know this thread hasn't been active for a while but I figured I'd throw my two cents in anyhow. I came across it while searching to see if others linked their Fitbit to WW. I just started WW about a week and a half ago. I think I've decided that I won't link my Fitbit to WW though. Seeing all those activity points would make me too likely to actually eat more, and also feel like I've gotten more exercise than I really have. I prefer to just enter actual, planned out activities, like the 30 min. dog walk, or gardening for an hour or whatever. Then I can really see an accurate picture of what I've done.

I haven't been finding it too hard to stick to my daily points. Seeing the crazy high points for sweets has helped me stay away from them, and also to really enjoy when I've decided to indulge. The husband and I went to Dairy Queen over the weekend (my only sweets I've had since starting the program 10 days ago) but I planned ahead, ate a little under on points, chose the lowest point option I'd be happy with, and only used a few extra points that day as a result. And I didn't feel guilty or like I overdid it and was totally satisfied with my choice (I got a kid sized vanilla cone for 8 SP).

Like others have mentioned, planning and prep have been my two best friends. I keep things simple though. On Sunday night I chopped up bell pepper, onion and zucchini to use over the next few mornings. Then when I get up, I can saute a handfull of veggies and scramble up an egg plus a couple of whites, top it with salsa and I have a healthy, filling 2 SP breakfast. I can add a little cheese and a 1 SP tortilla and have an even heartier breakfast burrito. Eventually I'll branch out becuase I'll get way too tired of the same thing every day, but for now it works, and I'll look into other ideas to add in to the rotation.

Lunch has mostly been leftovers from dinner, and I've been making a lot of recipes from Skinnytaste.com or grilling chicken and veggies (the weather has been great for grilling!).

I'm personally loving the new Smartpoints plan. I was down 4 pounds my first week and I'm on track to be down again this week. I can see how some people would struggle with the switch from Points Plus, but I like this better (having done PP in the past). But I don't find it that hard (at least not yet...I realize I might be in the honeymoon phase still), and I haven't been unsatisfied or felt like I was missing out too much.

I just got a fitbit and a smart phone, and am tracking WW smart points on the WW app, and activities on the fitbit app. Can the fitbit app count smart points instead of calories?  If so how do I set that up?
