Hi. I am very new to using my Fitbit (Charge 4). I want to lose weight so have been weighing and logging my weight. I was surprised to see that the app has added a pound to my weight despite me not entering a new weight and wondered how/why this could have happened. Thanks.
Also, on a lesser note, should I be logging my fluid intake? It's a very complicated medical situation when it comes to fluid intake.
PS - I don't know if it is at all relevant to the weight thing but I am housebound/very immobile so cannot exercise and am trying to lose weight by reducing calories only.

Water drank is merely a figure for goals if you need help with that, has no bearing on any math.
Can you do some resistance training with your immobility to help retain muscle mass?
Weight loss from diet with no resistance can be upwards of 20% muscle mass - very bad state to get into since it sounds like you'd never be able to do lifting to attempt the hard road to get it back again.
Best to keep what you got.
For that goal of keeping all your muscle mass if you can't do resistance training now - suggest smaller than reasonable rate of loss.
For instance 2 lbs weekly or 1000 cal deficit is only reasonable with healthy body and over 50 lbs to lose.
Eat enough protein, 1g per lb of goal weight is good.
Where is the weight figure you are looking at that increased by a pound, meaning app or website, what field location exactly?
Because there isn't trouble support monitoring the topics to tell you if a bug, but sometimes it can be figured out.
Oh, reducing calories only is actually the ONLY way to lose weight. You have to eat less than you burn. Exercise not required for that. Exercise has side effect of water weight gain for many reasons actually.
Other health benefits to exercise obviously, as well as it can help you burn more daily, which means you can eat more and still be eating less than you burn to lose fat.

Sorry to hear about the limitations, it will makes things more difficult, hoping you can keep a positive attitude and see some nice results.
Synopsis of my comments especially with your clarification of activity level - do NOT take a big diet, or deficit, unless you have a lot of fat weight to lose.
The speed of loss needs to match the amount to be lost - or else the body stresses out, adapts, and can lose muscle mass - some very negative things you don't need.
In addition, confirm you get enough protein in what you eat. I mentioned that value already.
As to the weight changing - do you have your Fitbit account synced with some other account, that could be updating the weight?
While there are rounding effects dealing with conversion between kg and lbs, that usually is only seen when putting in new weight.
