Hello all,
I am attempting to lose weight, but have been at a plateau for four to five weeks. I weigh 222 lbs. and am roughly 5'10". My calorie deficit is around 1,000 calories per day bringing me to roughly ~2,200. Since I noticed my plateau, I have increased the amount I walk and added walking to my lifting days -- 15-20 mins at 3.3 mph where the treadmill changes the incline randomly. Does anyone have any recommendations for how to get over this plateau?

Yes, I lift weights on Wed, Fri, and Sun. I also do some walking getting me to nearly 9,000 steps per day.

What does your diet look like? How are you counting your calories? 15-20 mins of walking, while a good start, isnt going to do much in terms of calorie burn.

You should keep a food diary to see what is in your diet. Carbohydrates usually are the culprits. 15-20 minutes of walking is nothing. You should be doing 30-45 minutes of walking at the gym. You should park farther away from work, take walking breaks at work and during lunch. Try to get 10,000 steps a day. Also weight lifting builds muscle and muscle makes you heavier. But that is good. It's better to be weighed down with muscle than with fat. Check your waist size. Do your clothes fit better? SO don't get too obsessed with the number on the scale.

My recommendation would be 16:8 intermittent fasting. This will ensure that your body will burn a bit of fat every single day.
