Hi Everyone,

I have been reading quite many health websites for weight loss and several other common ailments. I have lost around 15 lbs in last two months and am elated at my progress. I checked few health websites and got  a little information about various ways to cure these common conditions naturally.

I need suggestions what are the best health websites for natural weight loss and treating common conditions like flu, cough, itchy skin, dry hair etc naturally at home. You see, these natural ways are inexpensive and easy-to-follow.

Regards.

hey there.. congratulations on your weight loss. Weight loss itself is a natural process and there are various methods that people use. the most reliable in my opinion and what has worked for me is the eat less move more concept. calories in should be less than calories out and most will see a progressive weight loss. As far as the other things you mention- you can google home remedies for all the items on your list and take whatever the most common approach is since it is most likely the most tested.

For basically anything weight related and body composition, I love Bodybuilding.com. For itchy skin and dry hair, you’re probably not getting enough good fats in your diet. For things like the flu or a cold, you can’t prevent getting the flu or a cold but you can boost your immune system to help manage the symptoms and how quickly you get over the flu or cold with diet and exercise.

I have lost 31 lbs in six weeks doing the Keto diet and intermittent fasting. It works wonders if you put into it. I've reversed my insulin resistance Type 2 diabetes and off the meds.

@danielpatrik: you seem to be collecting a lot of information in your quest for perfect nutrition, health, exercising etc. I hope you don’t get stuck in "paralysis by analysis".  At some point, you need to take action if you want to see results. Even if your plan isn’t "perfect", you can always make improvements to it along the road, when you see what works and what doesn’t work for you.

Dear @Dominique,

I understand your concern. Yes taking baby steps towards goal is indeed important and the journey is more important than the results. I have starting heading in the right direction. Just wanted to know good health websites to be updated and aware about different health conditions and their treatments. Plus, like i said i am planning to implement intermittent fasting as a lifestyle. Hope all of this would ensure that i lose few excess pounds and reach my target weight.

Regards.

I see so many references to boosting immune system.  I am looking for methods of tamping down my immune system.  Am I supposed too start eating junk food and stop exercising?  Towards this end I am taking prednisone and tacrolimus.

Hi @danielpatrik -- it would be helpful if you could share what approach you have been taking to lose weight.   Here's why: my observation is that the most helpful weight-loss sites seem to be segmented and focused on their respective approaches, such as eat less move more, whole food plant-based, paleo, low carb / keto, etc.  And, the sites don't acknowledge the validity of alternate approaches.

So if you read a vegan site, the only thing they have to say about low-carb is "OMG, don't do it, you'll die instantly, and if not, you deserve to die, you nazi."  And the keto sites say, "Eat vegan if you want, but you you could turn into an insufferable vegan scold, just saying."

Are there sites that consider alternative approaches in an even-handed manner?  WebMD attempts to and this Fitbit Community has a good diversity of viewpoints.  Sounds like you are leaning towards intermittent fasting - the sites I've found most helpful for IF are www.dietdoctor.com and Jason Fung's obesitycodepodcast.com .
