During the work day, and especially around 2:00, I get an urge to get up and get something, anything. Any suggestions on what to do to quell the urge?

I've found that it helps me to split my lunch up. I will eat the main portion (tuna, PBJ, etc) around 10:45 or so. Then I eat my non-fat greek yogurt around 12:30. All the protein prevents the galloping munchies.

I bring healthy snacks in my lunch box, I eat around 2:30 too because for me the 2-3 hour is the longest... I leave work at 4PM. What I do is grab a banana and eat that or a palm full of almonds (they make me drink a lot of water). You can also try some coffee.
Here's my schedule:
8:30 breakfast (I did do a 10:00 snack, but I cut that out)
1:00 lunch (I work out at 12:00 during the lunch break and just eat at my desk)
2:30 snack
6:00 dinner (then maybe a snack around 7:30)
You're more likely to eat what you have at your desk so try and bring a snack in your bag for the 2:00 craving. It's okay to eat, just make it healthy!

Snacking isn't necessarily bad. It keeps your metabolism up and running! I too bring a snack for around 2:30 or 3:00. I always make sure it is a healthy snack like an apple or a protein shake. I also have the urge to munch on things when I'm at my desk and I have found that chewing gum helps curb my cravings for snacks.
I hope that helps!
