I bought this product today and need to find a way to get moving with it. I have 45 pounds to lose to feel good about myself again. I want to do it for myself and my family. I hate to be out of breath when I walk and I need to do something about it before I cannot do it anymore. I need to know the right way to make this work where i can keep this going!! I am looking at this as the 1st day of the rest of my life and I want to make the best of it.
Give me some suggestions to make work - EASY

When I started I could just do one lap around the lake with my dog which is .75 mile. I just kept plugging away and gradually added more laps. I now do three miles every night but the dog also keeps me motivated. The fitbit was ideal for me as I like numbers so every day I looked, I tried to get a higher number. Start slow and don't get discouraged when the joggers pass you-just keep walking at your own pace. It will get better and easier every day! Good luck and Happy New Year

I have set long term goals and then short term goals to reach the long term goals. I am new but I think the most important think is to keep trying. It is OK to backtrack once in a while but persistance and excersize with the diet that is right for you from your doctor. Stay persistant and do the best you can everyday. This is my phylosophy.

What is the key to success?
In my opinion it is a way of consuming less calories than you burn but in a way that you do not feel deprived and much more importantly in a way that you can uphold.
There are so many forms of dieting out there that lead to hge success in the beginning, but as they are hard to do it is quite often the case that people gain all their wieght back and somer more...
I follow the 5:2 fasting method for the last 7 weeks and I have lost 6kg. Youa re "fasting" for two days a week and the other 5 days you eat normally. So each time I do a fast day I can tell myself, I can have whatever food I like tomorrow. (Obviously do not completely go overboard)
I keep on eating my beloved ice cream and have no bad conscience!
See here for more information and no- you do not need to buy the book or spend any money on this way of life:

Hope this helps a bit?

The secret for me is to decide that you want to change and make it a sustainable lifestyle change. I don't use any specific diet but I also know that moderation is the key. I keep calories low but I still enjoy the foods I want to enjoy by watching portions and reading labels. That little watch on my arm just happens to remind me that I need to always be active. I don't find the steps very accurate for my favorite types of exercise, elliptical and stationary bike. When I exercise I use a HRM and sync the results with fitbit. I track my calries but sync with fitbit. When I weigh myself I sync with fitbit. With everything in one place my health doesn't always have to be on my mind but I certainly have a reminder anytime I check the time.
I might be strange but I bought it thinking it would be all about the step tracking and am happier to find out that the steps don't matter much to me.
