What's the best app for tracking food that will export data to fitbit?

ANSWERED

I have been using SparkPeople's website and it works well, but I want something to use with my iPhone, and the Spark iPhone app has abysmal ratings. Thanks in advance!

I use MyFitnessPal. I didn't have any issues with the app on my blackberry and haven't had any problems yet on my Samsung galaxy.

I have been using myfitnesspal for 2 years and have had great success. I am currently 145 lbs, which is down from 258 lbs. I am only 5'1" and want to drop another 10-15 lbs to reach goal.

I use LostIt.com with a number of other folks who have fitbits and others who do not. I can tell you that LoseIt + Fitbit is a winning duo for me. Fitbit discussions are simply not a substitute for the healthy friendship and discussions we have on Loseit. You can try it for free but to sync your fitbit you need a premium account. I totally feel it's worth it. I've lost 36 lbs and my friends keep me coming back for more. Good luck!

To sync Lose it with fitbit...which account needs to be premium?  Both or just one of them?

Congrats on the weight loss!

Wow! Congrats!  I'm down 70# and have 20 more to go.  Tracking is hard.  I'll have to check out my fitnees pal.

I like FatSecret.com.  Works great on my Android or laptop.  I went there when I was looking to really start tracking calories in addition to my WW points.  It helped me zero in on the sodium and carbs.  It's a great all-around weight loss community and offers a lot of support regardless of the plan you choose to lose the weight.

i use loseit + fitbit. myfitnesspal is really nice too, but there were two things that made me leave the site. 1) the ads are obnoxious on both the site and the app and 2) mfp seems to always have issues with fitbit sync -- loseit never has any issues syncing.

I currently use myfitnesspal.  I used Lose It for about the last three years and recently switched.  I think Lose It is much easier to use but the food database on myfitnesspal is LIGHT YEARS ahead of Lose IT.  (Although you have to double check the nutrition information, many entries are wrong).  Been using it daily for 90 days so far and only one food item I have eaten in that time period could not be found by the scanner part of the app.  Lose It had almost one item a day that was not in the database.  Have not had a problem with either one of the syncing to my Force, both have synced flawlessly.

Loseit forces you to go premium to sync with fitbit.  MyFitnessPal syncs fitbit for free.

I have been using My Fitness Pal linked with Fit Bit. I see the upgrade today (June 25) adds the barcode scan feature I love so much in My Fitness Pal. Wondering if I should drop the linked app and just use Fit Bit exclusively including food input. What do you see as advantages and disadvantages?

Why are you not happy with the fitbit calorie counter? That is what I use, but if I am missing something, please inform me. Thank you

For me, the fitbit.com calorie counter was just OK on the web page; the iPhone app was a pain. I switched to using LoseIt! because it was easier to use and had the added bonus of being able to scan barcodes. Scanning barcodes makes it dead simple to add a 'new' food to my tracking. If I have to manually enter nutrition information for something, I'm less likely to track it. Small thing, I know, but there you have it. The LoseIt! subscription fee was worth it to me to have better tracking.

I use myfitnesspal and it links with my BlackBerry fine.  If you are Canadian the myfitnesspal's food list is much better as it lists alot of foods that FB does not.

+1 on MyFitness Pal it syncs well with FB. Tracking is not that hard just a matter of discipline like exercising. Keep track of all you eat and stay hones. The pounds will come off.

I've been using My Fitness Pal and am finding it quite helpful.  I seriously and happily recommend it as a great app to go along with FitBit.  I'm waiting till May to get a newer Android phone that will work even better with MFP than the one I'm using now but MFP works very well with pc.

Where do you log your food so that it can sync or be transferred to another app?
