New user: I have been jogging and getting wonderful heartrate stats. I tend to be in the cardio and peak and rarely in the "fatburning" zone. I then started thinking maybe I should incorporate more walks and slow down to burn more fat. It just didn't make sense to me, and then I found this article (couple years old) https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/wellness/the-fat-burning-heart-rate-zone-is-a-myth-how-exer...
So, I guess I should just keep working out like normal and not worry about the zones? Any thoughts?

Hello @Mardo4 I've moved your post to the discussion board on managing weight. This seemed a better choice than the hardware help board.

The difference is in cardio and peak zones, you are burning more calories overall. The fat burn zone burns fewer calories, but a higher percentage of calories are from fat. But I think of fat zone being more of a starting point to get people active and walking. The extra calories one burns during cardio/peak are plenty enough for weight loss, and have the added benefit of more effect on heart health.
But walking is really great exercise, especially for recovery mode after intense workouts.
