What's up with the math on fitbit?

using the ariba scales, last weigh in was 212.8 and todays was 211.5.  When I went to school, that equals a 1.5 lb loss, but the website says its only 0.6!  How our education system has failed us!

Check to see where the "starting date" is set for that particular stat.

The math for recording weight loss is not calculated correctly, can this be fixed and/or can you over ride it?

Thanks...so frustrating.

So where exactly on the website does it show weight lost since last weigh-in?

Rather than weight lost since starting weight?

Because if your starting weight was 212.1 - guess what is correct?

Share the math you think is incorrectly calculated, in case it could be the same reason as first post.

January 9 starting weight was 145 lbs.
January 16 weight was 143 lbs - a loss of 2 lbs.
Fitbit says a weight change of 0.7 lbs.

Fitbit says a weight change of 0.7 lbs.

Then suggestion above applies, you need to check the past dated entries and confirm dates and weights.

If correct, then contact support about it to have your stats reset.

I played with several date ranges. I was trying to go Friday to Friday, but
no matter where I put the dates, 0.6 lbs. was the result. I'm on the verge
of quitting Fitbit now anyway. The customer service sucks and I'm basically
dead in the water with my device.

Hi @divedragon

Can you please provide me with more info about the miscalculation you're seeing?

I checked your profile and it is showing the correct number in terms of change from your starting weight of 225. Can you please specify where you're seeing the miscalculation?

Looking forward to hearing back. Thanks!

Hi @RedRoe

I'm sorry to hear that you're seeing a miscalculation. I checked your dashboard > weight log for those specific days and I am seeing 2lbs as the difference.

Can you please provide me more information as to where you're seeing the miscalculation? Are you using a mobile device to view? What browser are you using? Are you using a custom view, week, month or year view?

Look forward to hearing from you! Thanks!
