What's your water goal?

I just got my CHR and love it so far! However, I noticed that the water goal doesn't automatically adjust for weight or activity level. What's your water goal? Mine is 133 oz. That's 6 refills of my 21-oz Hydro Flask, plus a 12-oz can of flavored seltzer that I share with my 2-year-old.

Slow sips at my desk of this big jug. 101.4 oz a day. Though I tend to lean on refilling on polluted DC tap water for another 100 oz.

That is glorious!

 

I just moved to MN from DC and to be honest... I miss DC tap water. It may not have been good, but at least it wasn't softened. The water here has a texture, which I didn't even think was possible.

This is a bit off topic but I FEEL YOU! Here in the Midwest we get most of our water from the Great Lakes so that's probably why you can taste the difference. It's crazy though, I moved from Sheboygan, WI to Manitowoc, WI (just 25 minutes to the north) and the water is completely different here. Manitowoc is much smaller of a city and I don't know what they do to their water but it's terrible. I bought a Brita water filter for the faucet and that helped with the taste. Maybe that would help you too. I pretty much only drink the water from the filtered faucet or from a filtered water bottle. 

 

ANYWAYYS I heard that the appropriate water goal is half of your body weight. If you're 169 lbs like me it would be 84.5 ounces. Though I set my goal to 74 oz. I find that if I drink 84 oz I am using the bathroom all day long, which is too distracting for my job, especially on the days when I am driving to customers' houses.

I live just down the road from the water storage and purification thingy and our tap water tastes and smells awful to me. I can smell the chlorine in it as soon as I turn on the tap. I find that if I bottle it and drink from the bottle I can't smell the chlorine so much so it doesn't taste too bad. I'm aiming for 2litres a day but haven't acheived it yet. When I'm in Uni or in clinic I take bottled water of various types and find I drink more than if I'm at home.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you hear or read that water intake should be half the number of your weight?  I'm presently at 308lbs so 154oz of water daily sounds like a whole lot to me.

I don't remember where I heard it but I don't follow it because I don't know that it's true.

I try to drink 20oz (shaker bottle) an hour. I'm in the office 8 hours a day including lunch. If I can fit it in every hour, I'm golden.

There is no valid science behind water goals. Read this article and see why. Fitbit should remove this feature.

I do try to drink half my body weight in ounces water daily. I have no problem drinking 16/20 oz. at a time. It filters your organs and helps rid your fat cells' storage and my skin is clear. Doing this seems to help everything along. When I'm hydrated I also tire less ...I don't need a study. lol

Just purchased a PUR filter pitcher and filling my coffee cup with water and the big jug for a 50.7 oz. 6 cups filtered water. Just fill it twice for 12.
