What weight loss programs have worked for you/can you recommend for a beginner?

Hey everyone! Just joined and am looking to lose some weight that I’ve gained from basically hibernating during the pandemic lol so I’m just wondering if anyone can share some links for programs or whatnot that have worked for them? I’ve just started this smoothie diet https://bit.ly/41AdSEx (has anyone tried it??) but I’m looking for other stuff to try that’s worked for others! Thanks!!

Carnivore all the way!  Went carnivore a year ago and the weight just fell off with almost no exercise at all.  Not to mention my health has been steadily improving and my joints have so much less pain and stiffness.

The more they overthink the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain.

I had good results and my daughter is having excellent results with Intermittent Fasting.

I've personally found a combination of a balanced diet and regular exercise to be quite effective. As far as diet goes, I like to follow the principle of moderation. Rather than sticking to a strict diet plan, I try to include a variety of foods rich in nutrients, and maintain portion control. For exercise, starting with something you enjoy is key - be it dancing, walking, or even gardening. It's all about getting moving! Remember, it's not a race, it's a marathon. So take it slow, listen to your body and make changes that you can stick with long term. Good luck!

after years of trying all kinds of diets and failing, I finally started losing weight by using a phone app to calorie count!

I've lost 64lb in 10 months.

just use an app and scan everything you eat into it and over time you will learn what's high calorie and low calorie and slowly you will start to make changes to what you eat!

but first, just get in the habit of logging all your food.

also never ever go over a calorie deficit of 500 start at 200 and move along at 50 cal increments every couple of weeks.

weight loss is a marathon, not a race!

I went with high deficits a couple of times and just made myself ill and ended up putting the weight back on, so patience is the watchword!

Hi! I would recommend strength training and a high protein low calorie diet. That’s literally the key to healthy weight loss . You will look toned and lose fat in the process . You can still enjoy what you love to eat , just in moderation ❤️

CICO (calories in vs calories out).

Set a healthy goal/calorie deficit and track your calories in and calories out, if done accurately you will lose weight. Also something like this is sustainable for the long term, being able to tweak it for maintenance once you have reached your goal.

Just wanted to add that I personally found success with a combination of mindful eating and incorporating more physical activity into my day. Mindful eating is all about being aware of what and how much you're eating, and enjoying your meals without distraction. It can be a very powerful tool, especially when combined with balanced nutrition. As for physical activity, I found that making small changes, like taking the stairs instead of the elevator or walking during my lunch break, really added up over time.

I lost over 73 pounds in 5 months simply by watching what I eat, counting my cals, and doing 15-minute weights including random planks and squats throughout the day. I started out fast walking 1 mile a day, and it kept getting easier. The weight was falling off and then I found myself doing sometimes 6 miles in a single exercise.

I stick with high-protein foods and stay away from high-carb foods. I do not starve myself but I do eat right. My cholesterol dropped and all my blood work returned last week better than it has been in 20 years. You do not need to exercise to lose weight. But you DO need to exercise to stay healthy and fit.

@bellavaan every diet comes down to simple calories-in-calories-out. It doesn't matter whether you do keto, carnivore, intermittent fasting or any fad diet. You consume less energy than you spend - you lose weight. Now, some people may find easier to follow a specific regime. This is because our individual habits. For example, I tend to eat at night. Midnight snack is something I'm used to so I incorporated it into my eating habits. I found out that semi-fasting until late noon also works for me (due to morning training which usually backfires on full stomach). There are lots of individual little things that eventually work together. It alsl helps to use calorie counting apps but I learned long ago to "eyeball" my food. My wife on the other hand is a very picky eater. It was always a bit annoying but then she wanted to lose some weight and her "pickiness" became quite handy. She really prefers staying hungry rather than eatinh something she doesn't quite like (total opposite of me 🤣). That takes her into slight calorie deficit and she adds exercise, too and it works. Many people, many ways but you won't cheat thermodynamics 😉
