Where have i gone wrong?! weight loss

Hello! Back in March 2018 i was 16 stone and was diagnosed with depressed for two years

Fast forward to now I'm no longer suffering from depression and lost 49 pounds making me 12 and half lol.

Still have the horrible fat around the belly which sucks.. reason why i'm writing this is because i feel i've hit a wall and could do with some help.

I'm 22, i burn between 800/900 calories through work (Postman) and only have 2020 calories, not adding into account what i just burned at work. i feel its a good cut but i'm not seeing that on the scales.

any advice would be appreciated

Welcome to the community, @HaydnGeorgi, and congrats for your impressing weight loss!

So your starting weight was 224 lbs and you lost 49 lbs (22% of your starting weight) in 14 months. You are saying you have too much fat around your belly at your current weight of 175 lbs? People who have lost a lot of weight (especially in a relatively short period of time) usually complain about lose skin. You surely have less fat (in all places) at 175 than at 224 lbs, right?

Now, what do you mean by "hitting a wall"? Is your intention to further lose from your current weight of 175, and you can’t break through that level? If so, it is kind of expected, given the amount of weight you have already lost, and the pace at which you lost it. A more sensible goal at this stage would be to maintain your current weight for a while. Check the Losing All Your Weight At Once video by Dr. Mike Israetel for the rationale.

Thank you for replying!

Yes, so i still have fat around the lower of my stomach, around my chest area and hips slightly. On the stomach it's slightly loose.

I'm finding it easy to stick on my current weight. thats not an issue! but for some it is. i always get told to be careful because i could just pile it back on quick but i'm guessing due to my job its keeping me at level.

I've always dreamed of having a nice body and now i'm on that path.. well kinda

Well, it doesn’t look to me like you’re having a lot of fat around your belly, or anywhere else, especially compared to last year. Just enjoy being leaner than most, and focus on further improving your physique if it’s something that matters to you. I guess there’s an age dimension to it: you’re in your 20’s and looking good is very important to you; I’m almost 60 and am more concerned about health than looks.

Btw: there’s no need to use links to external sites when posting pics: just click on the Photos icon  of the toolbar when preparing your message, and you will be able to have your pics inside your post (hosted by the Fitbit forum platform).

If you’re interested in optimizing body composition, you may want to have a look at this topic (for the diet part of it). For the exercising part of it, you should consider engaging in resistance training, if it’s not already the case.
