So, it's been freeeezing here, and I'm having a tough time keeping motivated. I have hardly been running because of the cold-- hard to get motivated. I have been walking some to keep myself from becoming a COMPLETE couch potato.
What do YOU do to stay active through the miserable cold of January?

I go to exercise classes.. yes I do less exercise in the winter but equally I think I eat a little less too because I normally have lots of cups of tea which keep me going in the winter rather than an ice cream!

Lift heavy things and then put them back down. Repeat.

I have been walking 5 miles a day, 3 days a week since last March. The only reason I have been able to stick with it through these winter months is I found a partner. We brave the cold(tonight was 27'F ) with lots of layers and go walk laps in a school parking lot. I just got the Fitbit for x-mas, so we only just started our tracking 10,000 steps, which takes us about 1.5 hours. Last week when it as well below 0', we forced ourselves to mall walk (some malls open 2 hours early just for mall walkers) and got our 3 days in. We plan to use the mall on weekend mornings if we can't get our evenings in due to weather or kids schedules.
Sometimes I try to walk myself on the off days and its a struggle to even get 3 miles in alone(or doWalk Away the Pounds). The partner makes all the difference, because you know she is driving there to meet you, you HAVE to show up!
I just joined a local meetup group and posted I was looking for a mall walking partner for Tues/thurs. and one person replied and we started this week. I think having the variety of indoor/outdoor,and 2 differet partners will keep me going.
Good luck!
