My name is Nikki and I've being using my FitBit since a little after Valentines day. Some days I forget to wear but mostly it's always on my side. Last year I lost 30lbs and during the months of November and December, I took time off. I ate normally and only gained a couple of pounds. So since the beginning of the year, I have jumped back on the weight loss train and have been eating as clean as I possibly can and working out as much as I have time for. I have found that posting everyday about my activities really help keep me motivated. It makes me feel like I would be letting someone down if I wasn't being as active as I possibly would be. So it has been a wonderful motivator for me. I am looking for friends who will show positive attitudes and be real about the ups and downs of losing weight. I'm a very blunt person and I love talking about the struggle because not only can they be inspiring but also funny as well. I think finding humor in a lot of what we do is a great way to maintain a healthy outlook on life.

That's great that you lost 30lbs already!! I'm good with the working out part, but have a hard time with portion control. I eat healthy foods most of the time, but like to eat out also! I really only have about 10lbs to lose but it's been hard!

Hello Nikki,
You are awesome and everything is awesome......! Sorry had to get that off my shoulders. The stupid Lago Movie music is still stuck in my head, well not really stupid. Anyways keep on posting your achievements. I know I enjoy reading people's comments on fitbit community in the morning. It makes me happy and motivated also, so thank you for that! Well I know personally I enjoy stories and I usually start a story with me, not trying to be conceited or anything like that, LOL. So I am happy husband and father at 5'8 and about 168 pounds right now. But that wasn't always the case. About 8 years ago I weighed close to 200 pounds, so already pretty big. I had previously injured my knees in high school and never had a chance to get surgery. So about the same time 8 years ago I decided to get my surgery. Afterwards it was a struggle to walk or move. For 3 months I had to move slow and mostly had to say in bed resting. I've gain 30 pounds within 6 months of resting and healing. And I started not to care about my health or even motivation. So couple of years goes by and the total body weight I achieved was 235 pounds for a 5'8 person, not a great weight for small guy like me. Well during that time I changed a new job. At my work they were holding a new competition (biggest loser). The challenge was to see who could lose the most amount of weight with in the 3 months. I decide to join this competition and start to motivate myself. About 3 months later I was in 3rd place and went from 235 pounds to 195 pounds. What a achievement I told myself and kept going after the competition. A year later we had another challenge and this time I won 1st place from weighing 195 to 165 pounds. And now present time I'm still chucking away maintaining my BMI and body fat. I am now trying to get leaner by learning other diets that would help with my daily life. The thing about motivation I've learned is not to give-up. Because once you do it is really hard to get back into groove of things. The positive outlook is that motivation works the same ways once you get motivation it is hard to drop it. So to finish this is that people like you are a great inspiration and have motivated me for a long time. People like you and all over fitbit and other fitness communities are doing wonderful things. So keep chucking away and inspire other people to do great things!

Thank you all so much for adding me as your friend and I hope to inspire the rest of as you all have helped to inspire me. I think that it's wonderful for people to talk about their weight loss struggle because there might be someone else out there going through the same exact thing. With those types of conversations going on, there will be someone there who will help get them past their struggles. I for one have used the baby weight excuse way too long LOL. My son will be turning 4 this weekend and it's no longer baby weight, but laziness. I came to terms with that last year when I lost my first 30lbs. I am 5'2 and was weighing in at 173lbs. WAY TOO MUCH!!!!! After I lost the 30lbs, my next goal was to get down to my pre baby weight size.
I had gained a ton of weight while pregnant and I wish that I didn't but it happens to the best of us LOL. Now I'm down to around 143-141 and I'm aiming at 125. So hopefully you all amazing people will be here to support me through this journey cause I will totally be there for you.
If you also want, you can read my daily journal on here. I usually post later in the night since I don't sync until bed time. But it will keep you up to date on what I did that day.I will also follow you back if you want me to to help push the motivation.
Let's keeping smashing the weight together!!!!

Together as a weight loss community and friends of fat hating fitness loving freaks, I will totally be here to help you out. I will do my best to answer any type of questions you might have and I will do my best to give you the best advice that I can. I love helping people!!!
Once you start losing weight, you'll love the feeling of how much energy you have and the motivation will start to come for a while, but then it will fade. But that's why you have awesome friends who care about you and fitness, to help pull you through:)

I gained weight having my youngest son too then had my knee rebuilt so was laid up for another 6 months so I'm WAY behind the game here. Would love to be friends Nikki or whoever else...I haven't yet figured out how to friend request anyone 😕

I have created a private group to add my new friends to so we can talk more about weight loss on a more personal level. I think it would easier if we started a movtivation group so we can openly express our struggles. But I have no idea on how to invite people to my private group. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Would love to join your group. I need all the motivation I can get. I've been using my Fitbit Flex since the end of December. So far I've lost 17.6 pounds. I am similar to you. I am 5'1" and started the year out at 185.1 Yikes! I have struggle with weight loss my entire life. I do well in the winter months and as soon as summer arrives the wheels fall of the bus! I am determined not to do that this year. I am trying to lose a total of 60 pounds. I love the Fitbit. I have become beholden to it and I am over 10,000 steps a day without a lot of effort. I have a desk job so I don't move around a lot during the day. I have been working out for 60 minutes a day. I do half before work and half after.
Good luck to you. I look forward to hearing more.

Hey Nikki, I have also had struggles with my weight. Have been playing volleyball with 2 pounds for a week now. I need to lose 10 more to even see if I would like my goal weight. I haven't been at it in so long.
