What does the points on my aria scale mean ? ...for instance 140.3...what is the point 3 ? ...ounces ?

The same units that your weight is in - whatever the 140 is (pounds, Kilos, stones)

It is 140 lbs...but is the .3 ounces ? ...because I have never for instance seen a 140.11.

Most consumer scales only measure to 0.1 pounds.  Actually I purchased a scale recently and it measures to 0.2 pounds.  (0.2, 0.4, 0.6 ect)

If you are in pounds, then

0.1= 1.6 oz
0.2= 3.2 oz
0.3= 4.8 oz
0.4= 6.4 oz
0.5= 8 oz
0.6= 9.6 oz
0.7= 11.2 oz
0.8= 12.8 oz
0.9= 14.4 oz
1.0= 16 oz

Yes, it’s a decimal, so 0.3 is three tenth of a pound. Go metric if imperial units get too confusing .
