Hi all,
I am as always a little confused with number and such like.
I have set my food plan to lose 0.5lb a week, as i dont have a huge amount to lose.
When i go to the dash board showing calories in v 's calories out. Both for the day and an over view of the week. Does this number already factor in my set caloire defict for losing 0.5lb a week or should i aim for a negative figure of 1700.
e;g as it stand now on my week view : calories burned : 12723 total eaten: 12493 - 230
my understanding is that i have burnt 230 calories more than i have eaten.... correct ??
is this figure already included my 1700 that i have set it to .
Arrgh now im confusing myself

Yes, calories in is what you ate and calories out is what you've burned. Your calories in must be less than your calories out to lose weight. A deficit of 3,500 calories will help you lose 1 lb. So to lose 0.5 lbs you should be having a 1,750 calorie deficit each week.
It will all depend on healthy eating, cardio, quality of sleep and the amount of water you consume. Don't just use one aspect of your Fitbit, use everything together and set your goal to weight loss. Good luck!

Lex69 I am JUST like you! I struggle with my calorie in/out too, but I am still learning things. I've only had mostly green zones on my dashboard- once! My goal is to get to 49KG, if possible. At the moment I'm between 51 and 54KG. I'd like to maintain late 40s/early 50s if possible too. If I am ever at the 49 marker, it is not for very long. Perhaps my goal is wrong... and that I should not be fussing over weight, however this is quite an obsession of mine (linked to an operation) so I don't think my obsession will ever fade. Exercise for me is all or nothing, same with chocolates/crisps. If I buy a box of pringles. I eat the lot in a day or two. I get into a good routine with exercise. GREAT- I lose that routine and motivation can be so hard.
Its these goals even if they are unrealistic, they keep me going! I have far too many goals as well, but some are realistic but not within a timeframe. Perhaps they should be. 5k in less than 25 minutes >.< I think this is why I have a love/hate relationship with Flex. I love it, and it makes me do cardio, which I'm not so fond of. I'm a bigger fan of circuits in the gym etc.
