Did you mean:

changing my plan

So i started off on a -1500 plan that i set myself, i have a bit to lose as i am a big lad, over a week and a half i was 14074 under budget - overall i lost ..... half a pound!

i have done more exercise than i have in ages over 15000 steps a day and 3 active hours some days.

So his week i am going to force myself to eat more and try just a -1000 budget.

i have my wedding end of next week so only until next Thurs, then i take wedding weekend and honeymoon off - still getting the exercise, but no way am i calorie counting.

hopefully coming back on afterwards with only a couple of added pounds max.

Be careful you are getting all your vitamins and nutrients. If you are to severely restrict like this (for a short time), be sure to pick up a multi-vitamin at the store.

I eat a mainly vegetarian diet with some meat thrown in ....

worth pointing out that a 1500 deficit still has me eating just over 2000 calories a day ... my BMR is 1990 and I am ensuring I am pushing myself on the exercise front, walking five to six hours each day (i'm a teacher on summer break so I have the time).

i also weight 17 stone 2 pounds, so I have plenty of weight to lose....

I'm a teacher too! haha..

anyways, I think it's good to push yourself extra hard for special occasions like your wedding. Keep it up!, hopefully you don't get burnt out exercising so much. I'm exhausted thinking about it. And hopefully when work start up soon we can both manage some exercise after work (even more exhausting).

A few comments: 1) if you haven’t exercised for a long time and suddenly switch from sedentary to very active, it is not uncommon to gain quite a bit of water weight initially (this could explain why your weight loss is much smaller than expected), 2) 10 days is still a very short period: you didn’t gain the weight you’re now trying to lose in a few weeks, or even a few months, so you should be prepared to be in for a long time; this is a long-distance run, not a sprint, 3) weight loss is not always linear; you should look at the trend over the long term, rather that short-term variations on a day-to-day basis. All the best in any case in your endeavour.

Measuring tapes can be your best friend.

I am like you in that I have quite a bit of weight to lose and am used to a very sedentary lifestyle.

Moving more than ever (just got the marathon badge today) and making much better food choices and the number on the scales hasn't moved a smegging inch.

But I have lost 30cm from my body.
