Did you mean:

does anyone here use my fitness pal?

ANSWERED

If so it is common knowledge over there that you should eat back your exercise calories as that is how that program is designed....is fit bit the same way? Are we supposed to eat back that calories we burn off as well or does fitbit somehow calculate that in and we shoudln't do that?

Yes, the "Fitbit calories left" will factor in your calorie burn, and give you more calories the more you move. It will also take calories away if you are being a slug.

I was using MFP before I got my flex and they work great together.  I've lost about 12Kg using the pair of them now 🙂

A few days back I linked my Fit Bit to My Fitness Pal, I use to use fat secret, but they do not let you link your FitBit, so I tried this. Thus far I love it! I love how it gives you more calories for moving, so you have more leeway to eat a little more if you choose. Over the weekend, after doing the Weekend Warrior Challenge (38,000 steps in 2 days) and linking my fit bit to my fitness pal, I lost 2lbs. So I am really feeling My FitnessPal. Hey there @jdj125 ! Welcome to the forums Cat Happy

The way MFP handles your caloric budget is that upon creating your profile, you create a certain caloric deficit goal (-250 calories, -500 calories, -1000 calories) and this tells you how many calories you are restricting to get an estimated weight loss per week.

This means that your Food Log for the day is already counting your caloric deficit goal, plus your calories given from your Fitbit activity. Your Fitbit tracker will send this information when the accounts are linked and your Fitbit syncs.

Short answer: Yes, you need to eat the calories back, since your budget is already including the deficit you chose. Smiley Very Happy

In your Exercise Diary, under a line called Fitbit calorie adjustment.

You must have negative calories enabled though for it to remove on days you are really sedenatry.

More info.
