well, its a tough question. Any dietary restrictions? Personally I'm a "pescatarian" and drink Shakeology everyday. I try to get in at least 30 minutes of excerise everyday! I'd love to talk more diet plans, private message me anytime. 🙂

Look up 5 and 2. Program from SBS looking at research around the world about dieting.
It involves 2 non-consecitive days of fasting a week. (under 500 calories on fast day) I have been doing it for 6 months, managed to loose 10kg including a bout of pneumonia and christmas, both times I was static or up 1 1/2 kilos. On the way back down again. It is amazing how much you can eat on the 500 cal. day. I record all food intake and it is amazing how many calories are hidden in ordinary things. At 60 this is the easiest lifestyle diet I have ever been on. I just move the two days a week to suit, outings, family dinners and 'MORNING TEA' at work. (happens toooo....often.) Mostly I just fast during the week and take care on the weekend, except when it comes to roast potatoes. Get the biggest looser calorie counter, has the most comprehensive food list. happy hunting.

Lots of vegetables and fruit, whole grains, legumes/lentils, healthy fats (fish, avocado, olive/olive oil, nuts/nut butters, seeds/seed oils) and lean protein from meat and dairy sources.
Limit your intake of highly processed and refined foods. Limit your added sugars and sodium. Choose whole, fresh foods.
You don't need to be sold a diet, a shake or pills.

Here is the problem. What some people find easy to do others find hard. There is a lot of diets out there and the best advise is to find something that works for you that can become a lifestyle choice. Diet implies that when it is done you go off the diet and when you go off you tend to go back to the same behaviours/food choices that got you in to trouble in the first place.
I, myself am doing quite well with a Paleo diet (with milk) however some people say it's really hard to follow. For me it is easy and it doesn't cost me any more then the way I used to eat. WW failed for me because I had to make too many food choices that I didn't like, for some people it works well. When I paired myfitness pal with the Force I ended up again with gaining weight, I dropped that and went back to eating how I was and the weight is slowly coming off.
So find a lifestyle that fits you, you just may need to try a lot before you get to the right one

If you want to have a healthy balanced diet and have it be something that stays with you fior life I would go to Weightwatchers. I've lost 5 stone so far and they encourage healthy habits and provide you with support and discipline. Only diet that has ever worked for me.

But both should be combined with a life style change: cutting out "bad" calories and increasing " good" calories.

I totally agree with some other posters. Diets are garbage and unsustainable. Been there, done that. Make a lifestyle change permanently. If you don't, everything you lose will eventually return when the diet is over.
Over the past 5+ yrs I start out by getting rid of junk foods and processed foods, eating only a while foods "diet". By diet, I mean lifestyle. Then I took meats out, and eventually went vegan. I'm not saying that anyone needs to be as drastic as I, but a temporary diet just doesn't work.
