Did you mean:

getting in your steps.

I'm a big guy but I do know that if you get those steps in every day you'll lose weight.

Hi Waylon, and welcome to the forums and to the Fitbit family!  Yes!  Consistency is the key.  The farthest journey does indeed start with a single step.  I still also believe in the old formula--more calories burned than taken in equals weight loss.  Do you also eat plenty of fiber, fruits and veggies--and limit sugar and fatty foods? Do you drink enough water?  Are your protein sources lean or vegetarian (legumes, nuts, soy, etc.) Green tea also helps burn fat if consumed regularly.  I've read studies on that and have experienced it first hand.

After you get into a routine of walking, you may also want to consider taking yoga and palates classes, and cycling and swimming if feasible.  Also, have you had a physical lately?  Good thing anyway, and when starting a fitness program.  Anyway, best wishes to you my friend!  Make it a super healthy, fit 2015!
