I really like Jay Robb Whey Protein. There is also an egg protein in this line - I've read that can keep you feeling fuller longer, but I've had no issues using Whey. His brand is readily available in most health stores, or Whole Foods. There are a lot of great flavors to try and they all mix up really well in just a hand shaker when you mix with water - I do this at work every morning for breakfast. If you just want a basis for doing blender shakes, go with the Whole Foods brand of Whey protein. It's cheaper. My favorite blender shakes are to use protein, 2 ice cubes, 1/2 cup of fat free greek yogurt and 1/2 cup of unsweetend almond milk (30 cals). Add some fruit if you like (1/2 banana or some strawberries) and you are good until lunch time.

I use GNC Lean 25 Rich chocolate. It's only 200 cals and taste great. I was using advocare weightloss shakes, but they were too expensive for me to keep up on. With the Lean I just buy the tub and portion mine out for the week into snacksize ziplock baggies. This way they are easy to grab and go. They keep me full and I have energy too. Like I said the taste is great and I was totally against protein shakes for that reason alone. Hope this helps!

I use RAW FIT from Garden of life. It has 28 grams protein, is made from organic, raw, plant-based proteins. It has a mild sweet flavor. The downside is it can be a bit chalky or gritty. I blend it with water and some ice in a shaker bottle. I find that if I let it sit a bit and thne reshake and drink it is less chalky. The plus for me is the flavor and the protein. I dont mind the grit.

First, there's no such thing as "tone" but not gain muscle mass. You can only build muscle, maintain muscle or lose muscle. There are no other options.
You either maintain the muscle mass you do have while losing weight by getting adequate protein 10-35% of your daily intake. ***Protein supplements are unnecessary*** If you eat a healthy and balanced diet you should have no issues getting enough protein and strength training 2-3x a week. If you don't, when you lose weight... not only will you lose fat but lean muscle and tissue as well. If you lose enough fat, you may be able to see you're already existing muscles at your goal weight. You are not likely to gain any muscle while losing weight because you need to gain weight to really build muscle but you will want to try to maintain what you do have to keep your metabolism from slowing.
Or you gain muscle while eating enough calories to support muscle growth. However, this doesn't lead to women becoming bulky. This leads to women becaming lean. Muscle is dense and takes up less room than fat per pound. Fat is bulky. So the trick to being lean (or toned) is to cut fat and build muscle. First you work on losing weight and maintaining the muscle mass you already have and then you eat enough calories to build muscle at your goal weight.
You *want* to build muscle if you want to look toned. Looking toned is combination of higher LBM (lean body mass) vs. lower body fat %.

Personally, I worked on losing fat and building muscle to become toned. I gained muscle mass and lost fat. It didn't make me bulky at all. Infact, it made me smaller at a higher weight. I now wear a size 1 @ 115 lbs (before I gained weight from my pregnancies) I used to wear a size 4 at 110 lbs.

I'm really liking Sun Warrior Vanilla right now. Mixes well and not as gritty as some others. It's raw, vegan and organic.

Hi,
I'm currently trying to incorporate these shakes to my diet. Are you having them as meal replacements or supplements? Either way, is it for one meal or two? GNC recommends two, but this implies a high cost.
Thanks.

I used to skimp on my protein shake powders and buy the cheaper ones at the drugmart or such.
Since 2-3 months now I have started using shakeology and have also incorporated the strength and fitness training challenge into my daily routine. it's amazing what a high quality protein meal replacement and an exercise program that I actually ENJOY can do.
(I had lost about 30 lbs and hit a wall. then I added the shakeo and exercise plan and now I am down 55 lbs in total and definitely better toned but not bulky. I have to be careful of that too, since I am of European descent. As soon as I use heavier weights and start lifting... yeah. no. LOL)

Hello, I'd be glad to join.
BTW, are you using these protein shakes as a one meal replacement or for two meals?
I have limited access to products other than GNC, I live in Central America.

Hi there! I am using the protein shake either as a meal replacement (the vanilla flavourt pimped with a bit of spinach and fruit for example) or as a snack in the morning or afternoon straight up.
If I crave icecream, I blend it with LOTS of ice, so that's my chocolate sorbet/ice creamish treat.
And I bake protein breakfast muffins too... another nice way to get your protein in.
I dont know the GNC products well enough. I am using shakeology and am also following their workout plans (it's a whole package for 60 days. money back guarantee if I am not happy. Figured I have nothing to lose other than weight LOL)
I'll send you details for the challenge by PM.
Cheers
