jump in cals burnt?

my calories burnt estimate was seeming normal all day and slowly increasing, no jumps. i looked at my watch at 11:45 pm and it was around 1941 calories which seemed reasonable given my activity for the day. at midnight i refreshed my app and it jumped down to 1730. refreshing again, opening/closing the app, etc didn’t change it. any insight into why, or which number is better?

Hi, @lloyd64, welcome. When you start a new day, the Calorie budget resets. The old day ends, and a new BMR total starts to accumulate. In my case, it's a burn of about 60 calories an hour while I'm sleeping. If you touch the Energy burned tile in the Fitbit "Today" screen & touch the bar graph, moving your finger to the left or right generates a vertical index line and the daily total is replaced with an hourly total.

I apologise if I've misunderstood your question. Please post here again if I missed your point.

Cheers
