looking for friends - 50s and female and getting fabulous!

Hi!  I'm looking for some friends for motivation and support.  I'm 51, female, and working on losing 30 lbs.  My A1c is pre-diabetic so I'm shedding some weight to try and get it under control.

Anyone?

Hey 58/58...interesting we are here.  I'm 61 going on vacation, taking my w/out tapes, bands instead of wieghts for obvious reasons and determination not to stop just cause I'm on vacation.

Hi, I am 68, but would like to join the group if I could.  I joined WW and got my fitbit flex there.  It has really helped me get up and move.  I have replaced a knee, hip and ankle in the last few years, so to get out and walk is wonderful!   Hope to loss 40 pounds and so far have lost 15.  I really try to get my 10,000 steps in and feel bad if I don't.

Keep walking

Hi, i'm looking for a group to join. I'm 52 years old and am struggling to lose weight. I usually step 10,000 to 14,000 steps a day. I log in my meals, but so far have not lost more than two pounds. I could use some suggestions and motivation.

I'm 43 and on my way to losing another 30 lbs.  Motivation and support are a MUST.  Feel free to add me as a friend; I'm currently having some issues with keeping a charge on my Flex for more than a day but I'm sorting that issue out as we speak.  BTW....aren't those hormonal changes Mother Nature has blessed women with in our age group just FABULOUS?!?!  Honestly...the added challenge of eating clean while you are burning like a blow torch and unable to sleep a whole night through just isn't very nice 😄

My husband had a problem keeping a charge, notified Fitbit and they sent him a new one. It may be worth a try.

Good morning all!  I'm in the over 50 crowd and also need to lose a couple (plus!), UGH!

I have had 4 fitbits - the first had to be returned when people developed a reaction to the metal.  I then got the little tracker that clipped to my waistband (I went through 2 of those - waste of $$).  Now, I have the Charge HR - so far, so good.  What I did discover today is that I had to clean my contacts because it was not charging.

Yesterday, I hit 21,000 steps as I gardened for 7 1/2 hours!  I recently upped my step goal from 10,000 to 11,000.  I admit that before I crawl into bed if I need 500 or less steps to reach the next 1,000 I will jump out of bed and walk through my house, march in place, or jog in place LOL   Ahhhhh....it feels good to "come clean!"

I do participate in the challenges but I only have 3 friends connected and only 1 will participate  - not much of a challenge LOL

Good luck with the weight loss - keep in contact!  I am also a personal trainer so I have some good do's & don't's  Smiley Happy

Thank you!  That will be my next step if cleaning the contacts with an old toothbrush and rubbing alcohol doesn't work.  I've had it since last October, and this has been especially frustrating lately.

Looks like a great group. I am 62 and looking for friends to help each other in mutual goals. Used to ride horses and then due to life situations have gotten away from it. Lost about 12 lbs in last couple of months and want to step it up a little. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Hi Phoenixlady, I'm also 62. I still have a horse in my back yard that I don't ride. I've been here for a while/ since the end of March. And I have 25 pounds off and going for 20 more. Barbara

I got a Fitbit Flex for my 50th bday. Started out so motivated, but now am starting to lose my motivation. Looking for friends in their 50's as well, to help me stay focused.

Hey! You need motivation? All you have to do is askSmiley Happy This place is a great place and you need to use all the tools to your advantage. Make friends and stay in touch each day to see how you and they are doing. It is easy to lose the "motivation" but there is always tomorrow to pick yourself up and start again. Believe me, I have fallen off the trail so many times, but I always get back on. You can too. Have fun and look at  this to see just how far you can take yourself down your own path. You can do this.Smiley Happy

I'm 58 with 40 pounds to lose. I thought I'd best jump into the forum before I get to old for itSmiley Happy I got my fitbit about a week ago. I've lost weight in the past, but this time I'm finding the weight isn't falling off as fast at the beginning as it did when I was younger. Hopefully the fitbit will help.
