Hi! I'm looking for some friends for motivation and support. I'm 51, female, and working on losing 30 lbs. My A1c is pre-diabetic so I'm shedding some weight to try and get it under control.
Anyone?

I'm turning 55 around the holidays, and I could stand to lose about 25-30 lbs. I've had my fitbit for almost a month, and it turns out that I move MUCH more than I thought I did. It is easy for me to burn far more calories than I eat just in the course of my Mommy/Household work, but I haven't lost any weight. It's more than just calories - and this is not much of a surprise. But I am about to start doing exercise "surges" which is like intervals but more intense, but for shorter periods. That will hopefully get some weight off of the bod. The other thing that is on my near horizon is that I'm going back to school full time for an entirely new professional direction, so it will be more challenging for me to get all my movement in each day. I'm seriously looking forward to getting a healthier body back and to maintaining good energy. I already have healthy eating habits, so it is really about MOVING.

A couple of folks have asked about joining the group. These instructions were in an earlier post, "If you want to share your steps and see how others are doing you can click on the person's name on one of their posts. Then in the upper left by the profile picture click on go to profile. Once at profile, in the same area it will have add friend button." I haven't done that yet but do check in on the posts each day and get alot of motivation to keep with the program by knowing so many others are working hard at meeting their goals for daily steps and food plan if they are trying to lose weight.

I can relate, I will be 50 in February and work in an office. Getting my steps in is a concerted effort but feeling better is definitely worth it!
