looking for friends - 50s and female and getting fabulous!

Hi!  I'm looking for some friends for motivation and support.  I'm 51, female, and working on losing 30 lbs.  My A1c is pre-diabetic so I'm shedding some weight to try and get it under control.

Anyone?

Look up
"Canary seed" Alpise. I drink that in my water every day. It spends up
weight loss. It's been around a thousand years! It's natural.
Read about it.walk every day. If it's cold or raining go to the gym or just
lay on your bed and do bicycle kicks. Watch your calories. Another secret
weapon is keep a pitcher of water w slices of lemon and ginger root. Peel
the ginger, throw a few slices of ginger in and cut the root and throw it
all on. Keep refilling and after a day or two start a new batch. Ginger and
lemon control your appetite. 🙂

I have a Boston terrier (bella_rue on Instagram) so every morning we walk in the park. Since I don't run I felt walking wasn't enough so I got wrist/ankle weights. The kind that come on 10pds but u can slide off the weights for less. I do 5 in each one use on wrists so while I walk I do swirls, lifts, butterfly. Anything. On rainy days 30 min on bike a gym bc I have one in my building but if not just floor excersizes sit-ups led lifts just during a 1/2 tv show. Canary seed is not great tasting but pls don't be a WIMP bc it's so good for u Do this: put a big spoonful in a bottle of water in fridge overnight and have it every morning. It's not bad cold. Or if u have smoothies, protein drinks blend it in that and u won't taste it at all. 🙂

Hello Denise
I take Bootcamp two mornings a week, kick boxing once a week at lunch, walk once a week and go to Jazzercise once a week.
I have a very sedentary job, however I do get up and walk around.

how about you?

Just have a little each day. I have one teaspoon bc it also helps w breaking down fat. My dad's a doctor and very healthy but anti vitamins bc he feels all nutrients come from a balanced diet and that the vitamin industry is mostly a scam but he is FOR this. Says it's the Mexican Tofu. Just plain healthy.

Hi,

I have a desk job and although I work in an office, now almost 50 (just a few months away) I am finding it more and more difficult to take off the few pounds that creep on. Please ~ share with me some of your tips 🙂 Diane

I'm gonna try this one. I have recently developed the munchies and keep picking at sweets and biscuits for some reason. Will see how it goes.

Firedance - welcome.

Get away from the carbs. Find something else to snack on - air popped corn, a few nuts, string cheese, etc.

I have to watch carbs more than calories. Same calorie intake - 80g carbs I lose 2-3 lbs a week. 140g carbs and I only lose 1/2 lb a week (if that).

Hi, sadly I have always  been a carb junkie.

Over the years I had cut down and I thought I had  tamed  the carb beast for a while there but it has jumped back up to bite me again in the past two weeks 😞

I love fresh fruit and vegetables and will happily snack on them I also love nuts and always have some in the house to snack on I also love cheese (not too much though) and popcorn ... But I still crave the carbs sometimes.

I have not dared get on the scales this week! lol

I am also a muncher. What seems to work for me is crunchy food. I place cut up celery in a zip lock bag and keep them near my peanut butter in my fridge. I will also freeze some grapes in a snack size ziplock. This helps keep me on track.
