looking for friends - 50s and female and getting fabulous!

Hi!  I'm looking for some friends for motivation and support.  I'm 51, female, and working on losing 30 lbs.  My A1c is pre-diabetic so I'm shedding some weight to try and get it under control.

Anyone?

Hi sue_53
Welcome to the 50's and fabulous!
I too am new to the Fitbit and I Love It!
I would love to join challenges?

The challenge I make for myself everyday is to move a minimum of 12,000
steps daily?
I would like to make it 15,000 daily and 10 miles a day,but with work daily
i usually have my big gains on the weekends.
I check my fitbit often during every day to see where im at and dont stop
until my goal is met every day...
I love my Fitbit 😄

Hi Roniart30,

Welcome to the 50's and fabulous! I too am new to the Fitbit community and
looking for friends, fit challenges.
This past sunday i hiked 12 miles and 28,000 steps. I was amazed that i
hiked that far, but the two days before that i had hiked a lot also. This
is one way for me to keep a positive attitude. I have decided i am addicted
to this fitbit. If I can get the calorie etc... down as well I will really
feel like I have succeeded.😄
Add me as a friend and lets get motivated!!

Hi nurseva
I too use my fitbit to track my exercise, but have not got the calorie
tracker figured out completely? Sunday i forgot to set my hike map on start
( like a dummy), but will remember next time. Lol
I did 28,000 steps and 12 miles....
Im new to the fitbit and would love to get challenged. Im active and enjoy
working out.
My daily step goal is now 12,000 shooting for 15,000 and if i could get to
10 miles a day i would love it.
It is hard when we have to work for a living😄
Im up for a challenge. You?
Feel free to add me

Hi HanknLou_mom,
Welcome to the fitbit community. Feel free to add me as your new friend. I
too am new to the Fitbit. I love it. My goal when I started was 10,000
steps and 5 miles a day. I had to increase it to 12,000 recently and may
have to up it to 15,000.
I love to run, but have trouble with running like i used to, so i walk a
lot and hike a lot.
No Matter what I make sure my daily goal is met every day.
Im anxious to be invited to a challenge, so if you have one in mind let's
get started!
What do you like to do? And what goals do you have? 😄

I have been using my FitBit and I love it but I cannot seem to get all my steps every day because of work and kid obligation.  I would love to lose 25 pounds but would be happy with 15 for now.  I am 51 and is good health but the weight does not come off.  I eat pretty good but I have to admit, not all of the time.  I would love to see what really works for women our age.

I would love to friend you and get motivated together.  I cannot seem to get the weight off once I hit the late 40's  - now I am 51 so it is worse.

I turned 57 on Monday 3/30 and I am at my highest weight ever.  I need to lose 25 -30 pounds.  I was someone who was always on the thin side with no effort, so this continuous weight gain is getting me down.  I travel several weeks out of the month for work and then work from home when not traveling.  So, I need motivation since I am by myself alot of the time.

Hi everyone. You are all fabulous already! But l would love to make myself even more fab! I am 54 and using the Fitbit seriously in the last couple of months. I have gained weight due to the wonderful "change" and besides getting "hot flashes" I gained about 20 pounds. Am going to accomplish my goal and lose this weight. I know that I will feel better. I would love support and motivation as well. I could use all the help. Have a great day lovely ladies

I am 49 from Sydney, Australia and need to lose just over 40 pounds (20 kg) - I have a long way to go.  I love my fitbit charge and play tennis at least 2 times a week and walk my dog every day for about 30-45 minutes so I get my 10,000 steps nearly everyday.   My big hassle is that I'm losing weight very very slowly and it gets frustrating with all the exercise I do.  I'm now on lite n easy which gives me fixed 1200 calorie meals 5 days a week.  I use MyfitnessPal to keep track of my food intake and I've hardly lost 2kg in 3 weeks.

I'm sticking with lite n easy for about 2-3 months to see if I can lost the weight faster.  I do feel more energised though and I'm walking heaps faster than I did with my dog than before.  I do stray sometimes but I keep within the 1500 calorie limit which sucks still.   Let's see.  Just need some encouragement to keep motivated.

I had that same problem and someone told me to eat more protein it helps keep you satisfied longer. I have been doing lean shakes from GNC make sure you get the ones with 25 grams of protein. Replace them with two meals and eat some almonds with it. Then have a normal meal. I am losing about a pound and week and not much exercise. If I had time to exercise it would be awesome. I need to start making more time

I get the Whey Protein from GNC and do it for one meal.  Maybe I need to replace two meals.  After Easter I am going to really try.  I would be happy to be down 10 pounds by June.

I would love to join! I'm currently trying to get back to my normal 115-120 range. I know that we fluctuate and I'm not so worried about the number as how I look! I've been doing hiking with the dogs and my husband, hula hooping with a 3 lb weighted hoop, and walking. Oh and chopping wood! Don't forget everyone, regular things can be strenuous and help muscles too, including sex. BUT I digress.

Trying to lose that last 18 pounds, changed my diet from nasty processed blah and cut out soda (which always works), and am eating more fruits, vegetables, dairy, meats and grains. Trying not to starve myself though! Don't want my metabolism to slow down. So, I am down. I've set my program to medium.
