Hi! I'm looking for some friends for motivation and support. I'm 51, female, and working on losing 30 lbs. My A1c is pre-diabetic so I'm shedding some weight to try and get it under control.
Anyone?

I think you should join, Pat!
@PatNewMex wrote:Too late to join? I'm still in my 50s, pushing 60. Just got my Fitbit last week and getting used to logging food, which takes a lot of getting used to, but loving the STEPS feature! That's what will keep me going. Want to lose about 12lbs. Weight crept up on me during the year and I gained about 1lb a month in the last 14 months!!! Looking for a little motivation and company here. 🙂 Patty

Hello Fellow FitBitters!
I am 53 years old. Will be 54 on the 27th I love my fitbit! The steps keep me motivated although I haven't had the time to really go out and take a "real" walk. I just started a new diet program. I've been on it for 3 weeks and have lost 12 pounds so far. Another 52 to go. No.... not a diet program, it's a new lifestyle change! With my new "lifestyle change" and the FitBit this is the most motivated I've been in a long time. I hope this little community will keep all of us motivated to keep going! The weekend is getting nearer, let's try to do our best!

I am 51 and got by Fitbit on June 13th. Currently I have lost 27.6 lbs and am hoping to get to my goal weight by next spring/summer. Between having children, quitting smoking and some medications my weight has gone up massively since I got married 25 years ago. I've tried Herbal Magic and Weight Watchers and had some success but ended up putting some of the weight back on. I find with the Fitbit I want to get all my set goals 5 to 6 times a week. I love it and think that I will finally get to the weight I was when I got married.

The dashboard and food log really help me to be mindful of what I am eating and how much I'm moving. I think you'll like it, once you get in the habit. 🙂

Welcome to the group! I'm really focusing on exercise (albeit it nothing too strenuous, just brisk walking to get in my steps) and have dedicated myself to the food log for the past 30 days or so. I've lost 5 or 6 lbs, but want to lose another 15-20. I feel like this is a lifestyle change, rather than a temporary diet. Just may have to admit to myself that I will either need to step up the exercise or cut more calories to reach my goal. (I'm going the low carb, semi-paleo route.) Your interval treadmill work seems to be the right direction . I may try to embrace that. 🙂

Good morning group! I was just wondering, has anyone ever tried the Wii Fit? I just bought a Wii Mini and the wii Fit Plus. OMG! That thing is so much fun! I'm not a video game player so this is a new experience for me. Within a 15 minute period, I skateboarded, rode a bike and did some yoga and enjoyed every minute of it. I never thought working out could be this enjoyable! If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it. So fun!

Debbie, Can you invite me back onto this site. I swear I will never leave again! Here is what I recieved on how to invite someone from the "helpful people" who can't come on the sites because of privacy:
So that they can invite you, they must do the following on their computers:
1. Log in to their Fitbit.com Dashboard account.
2. Click the Community and Choose Activity Groups.
3. Click the Name of the said group.
4. On the right side, they will see a box with the name of the members and they should see "invite members" link.
5. After clicking, they should input your Email Address: barbara.halen@igt.com
6. Once they have sent it, you will receive an email that they want to add you on the group.
7. Then you can accept the group.
Thank you Debbie for trying!

Hi, I am Donna. Just turned 49 2 weeks ago. On the verge of menopause and recently diagnosed with IBS-C. So trying to be mindful of what I eat, have just purchased the Fitbit charge and going to the gym on a consistent basis. Hopefully this is my time.
