my fitness pal calorie vs fitbit calories

My calories left in my fitbit dashboard are more than the calories left in the my fitness pal app.  Which count should I go by?

First question, how many calories off are they? If it's not much, I would just go with the lesser value to be on the safe side. I only log foods with My Fitness Pal (MFP), and only activity with FitBit, and have it set for MFP to sync with FitBit so there's no "crossing" or confusion. I have noticed that MFP is about 80 calories lower on what it estimates my normal caloric intake should be to maintain my weight, when compared to FitBit, but I just set my calorie goals in MFP to account for this. I figure in the long run 80 calories a day won't matter a whole lot until I get down closer to my target weight.

From what I read, I should be logging all my food in the MFP, and all activity from the fitbit.  This is what I'm doing.  The calories left on the fitbit dashboard are always about 300 more than the calories in the MFP.  I have been going by the lesser amount, in the MFP.  But you know if I can eat more, I'd like to be able to do so.  The rest of the settings between the two are in sync.  So the total calories on each are the same, calories eaten are the same.....

it's totally right to log food in MFP and activity in fitbit. at first i was confused, but then it started to make sense. i think that MFP takes awhile to sync with fitbit and so the calories left over aren't synced up, so I check fitbit to see how many more calories i can intake.

I guess I'm realizing I never really look at the calories in/calories out on the FitBit dashboard. I mostly look at the total burned for the day and my steps and then look at MFP for calories netted. I didn't think that sync worked both ways so I didn't know how FitBit would know what I've eaten that day. I'm also using a FitBit One, not sure what you're using. Maybe it's a setting? Can you list some of the real numbers you are looking at? That might also help. What if you just look at the average total calories burned on FitBit per day and then subtract the amount of calories you want to drop/day and use that as your food goal on MFP?

I only weigh once a week.   In looking at my FITBIT weight this morning, it shows me 0.2 pounds less; however, I have not updated my current weight.

Does it calculate during the day what your going weight is?
