perimenopause and weight loss

Looking for advice from women who are going through perimenopause and having issues with retaining  water. I have been using my Fitbit for a week and doing great. I also joined a fitness center and have been able to work out three time this week. But today when I woke up I could tell I'm starting the time when I retain a ton of water. I could see it in my hands. This is the point I usually give up on my weight loss because it feels like nothing works. I don't want to do that this time. Anyone have good solutions or are you in the same situation and how are you handing it? Thanks for any help you can give me Smiley Happy

Just keep at it.  I always find even going for a 30 minute walk each day helps.

Think positive!

You'll have good days and bad days. I need to remind myself of this as I have to lose the 3 pounds I gained being sick and inactive.

I'd love to have you as daily email buddy.

Let me know how things are going.

Thank you tzfardaha for the words of encourement. I would be glad to have you as an email buddy.

Things are going good. I was looking around the dashboard on my computer and noticed that I can see exactly how much sodium that I am consuming. This is perfect for me to see what foods are causing me to retain the water.

if you know its water and if you know its water because of sodium- then you have it made in the shade! The days you retain, you know the scale is going to make you angry- but knowing it is half the battle. Don't go on a bender- stay to what you know you should eat and when the time passes- it will come off. And you and the scale will be best buds once again. Having an email buddy is excellent so you can rage when you need to and celebrate when you want to. I encourage both of you to find friends here and use them! Don't be shy, send requests and start messaging.
