First of all, happy birthday to you! And congrats for your new Fitbit.

Based on your profile, you started with Fitbit 9 days ago. You got a good start, averaging about 10k steps per day. I assume you are trying to be more active and to eat better/"cleaner"/"healthier"(whatever that means)/more responsibly etc. If so, it’s fine. It’s just that 10 days is still a very short period of time. It didn’t take 10 days for you to gain the weight you’re now looking to lose, so you shouldn’t expect to lose it in 10 days either. This is a long distance race, not a sprint. Besides, short-term weight gains can be caused by a number of factors such as water retention (not uncommon if you are switching from sedentary to more active), so don’t pay too much attention to them and focus on longer-term trends. If you move more, eat less and manage to create a reasonable/sustainable deficit, you will lose weight.

Happy Birthday @lesa45.  Sorry about the +3.  I've been trending up over the past year myself (+20).  The good news is that it's been stable for the past three months and the change was gradual before that, so I'll look to push it down gradually too.

First off 3 pounds could easily be water weight.  Around my period I don't even weigh myself, it is useless.  Secondly, over time you may gain weight if you are doing strength training or a lotta stairs, etc. so even though it's fun to see the scale trending down keep focus on your fitness goals.  I think the fitness goals will keep you more motivated over time anyways.  Years ago I had a running partner and we ran 3-4 miles 3 times a week.  My weight hardly changed at all months into running together but the shape of my ass really improved.  That was back when I was naive enough to think exercise was enough to lose weight, now I know that you have to combine dieting, strength training and aerobic fitness to get the best results.
