Hello!
I wanted to ask whether fitbit is considering making a correlation between heart rate and the female health function. Pilot studies such as this one performed with a fitbit device and other early studies show that there's a pattern in resting heart rate and the menstrual cycle.
This has given me a hint about why the evaluation showed by the fitbit app (the one it shows also on the bpm section) is completely irrelevant for me. It will tell me that I am in bad shape compared to other women my age when I am on the ovulatory and premenstrual phase and that I am doing great during my preovulatory phase. This is nonsense, because I haven't changed my exercising behaviour! This happened over and over again and I decided to check these heart rate data against my cycle data (tracked with clue and also with ovulation tests). The result was that there is a pattern for me too. This pattern could be useful to calculate the ovulation and menstruation dates and I think it's a pity it's not taken into account.
Fitbit gathers a lot of interesting data that I think could be used much better. Has anybody else noticed a pattern like this? Who wouldn't be happy to be advised when the period is coming? Or maybe have the heart rate zones altered according to that cycle phase? I think women could make much more out of these devices and the app only if the programmers took the gender approach we are missing.
Thanks for reading 🙂

Tracking of menstrual cycle was one of the reasons I chose Fitbit. But after seeing that this function is no more advanced than the free app I have been using for years, I'm not impressed at all. Why not correlate the cycle to resting heart rate? Or sleep? Or estimated calories burned? Or something elese research has shown that is highly correlated with the menstrual cycle.
