Menstrual tracking deletes all previous logs any time I open it

I am using a pixel 8, charge 5, if that matters.   

I can log whatever in my menstrual calendar, and it shows as many logs as I choose to make while the calendar is open.  However, if I go to my dashboard the tile says 'get started'.

If I click back into the calendar, I see previous logs for a fraction of a second, then they disappear.  If I go out and back in, it's blank - it appears to be deleting any existing logs when I open the calendar.

What am I doing wrong, or is it a bug?
