I have finally got both a recovery score and a target cardio load, and now I have only one question.
Has the algorithm for these things even heard of a menstrual cycle???
It is normal for resting heart rate to rise at a certain point in the cycle, a fact I learned because I could actually see it happening in my fitbit data. (And then I looked it up, and yes, it's a real thing acknowledged by science.) It's very regular (as far as the cycle itself is regularl) and easy to observe.
But for the last week, the app has been telling me that because my resting heart rate is up from last week, I must need time to recover. This is bad advice, and also boring.
Is the algorithm going to figure this out with a couple of months' data, or what? If it's going to keep comparing to last week, instead of to last cycle, it's going to be completely useless at least half the time.
