Can stress/trauma cause increase in resting heart rate?

I got in a car crash Monday night, and since then my resting heart rate has increased from something like 69 to 76, and Monday & Tuesday I seemed to always be in the "fat burn" zone. Could stress from the car crash cause that?

Thank you! Everyone just has minor injuries, nothing life-threatening, so we're all okay. 🙂
