Welcome to the Fitbit family!

Whether you've just got your Fitbit or have been with us for years, share a little about yourself with the wider Fitbit fam. You might find someone with the same interests or even the same health goals as you. You can say hi any way you like but if you're stuck, kick it off with:

  1. Where in the world are you?
  2. What is your current health/fitness goal?
  3. How do you like to stay fit?
  4. What motivates you?
  5. Favorite guilty pleasure

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Where in the world are you? I live in the United States. What is your current health/fitness goal? Eating more plant based foods, and maintain a healthy weight. How do you like to stay fit? Exercise daily for at least an hour, and keep track of calories, and food intake per day. What motivates you? Helping others, passion, love, music, trust, and loyalty. Favorite guilty pleasure? Video games, Music, Healthy food, Films, Sneaking an extra scoop of ice cream 38 percent hahaha.

Hello from Finland!

I am completely new to Fitbit and activity trackers in general. I've had mine about a week now, and I am enjoying seeing all the data about my body and health. It's been really interesting!

I have some chronic health issues, and in the recent years I haven't been very active.

My current goals are:

* to lower my body fat percentage

* to rebuild some of my lost muscle mass

* to lose a bit of weight and keep it there

* to learn eat the way that suits my current needs

* to keep exercising, even (and especially) at times of stress

I rather like to exercise by myself, preferably at home or near home. However, I would like to have a nice support community online.

I used to walk a lot, but after my dog passed away I stopped. Just recently I restarted walking, and even bought Nordic walking poles for some extra calorie burning and motivation. I also used to bike a lot, but my knees don't like that anymore. I was a yoga enthusiast previously, but the past year I have moved on to Pilates, and absolutely love it. I also enjoy rebounding (mini-trampoline) and stability ball exercising. I would love to restart weight training again, but fear my old injuries won't allow it. But I might try it at some point. Right now it (Nordic) walking, rebounding and Pilates.

If food is also considered as part of fitness, I am a vegetarian whose diet is very close to vegan. I need to concentrate on getting my proteins, and learning to reduce my portion sizes somewhat. I am currently trying to add veggies and fruits into my diet.

Finding a supportive online (and why not real life) community would motivate me, so do send me a friend request! Fitbit itself seems very motivating. But one of the biggest motivations is finding exercising forms that I enjoy doing, and noticing how regular exercising reduces stress.

My favourite guilty pleasures are, in the non-material realm internet, and material (food) realm all things sweet.

Well Finland, Hello from Georgia, USA. Fitbit has been a motivating factor in our lives (My wife and 10 kids) The challenges are the driving force in our activities. Just last week while watching one of the daughters compete in a gymnastics meet Kim (Wife) and I were given an impromptu award by the gym staff. We pretty much pace an walk all the time and almost anywhere. We were pacing in the bleachers and apparently we motivated the staff so much that they had to give us a small present for motivating them. :-). I use the activity to keep my blood sugar levels in check and to keep weight off. The Mrs. is driving for blood pressure control and weight loss. The kids mainly like the competition but it is very gratifying to see them walking in place in the living room while watching a show. Welcome aboard.

Good morning. It's been brought to my attention that a user in the Fitbit community is using my pics as their own. Their profile pic and a couple of pics they've posted are being used as their own. Any advice here would be greatly appreciated.

Hello my name is Tanya pronounced Tan ya. I live in Virginia. I bought my first fitbit it 2018 and I purchased my second one in 2019. I love being part of the fitbit community. I have motivation with the challenges I initiate myself and the ones I get invited to join, I have about 170 pounds to lose and I currently workout 4 days a week. The one exercise I enjoy is walking its so relaxing. I enjoy cooking also I just dont eat very much anymore. I honestly do not have a guilty pleasure that I can think of.

  1. Where in the world are you?     I am in SLC.  I am new to FitBit as of mid-Dec. 2019.
  2. What is your current health/fitness goal?   My current focus is achieving weight goals by trying to monitor all food intake, calculate and log calories with an eye out to add additional nutritional focal points.  I attend class on a regular basis which might be considered similar to AA group therapy.  In the process, which is all new to me, I am learning a lot and achieving what I consider some success. In the process, I have wound up watching my exercise in my daily chores and some deliberate activities both cardio and strength. I also wound up paying attention to my sleep log as sleep has become my next major endeavor.
  3. How do you like to stay fit?   I like to camp and kayak (whitewater) rivers as much as possible but find any time on the water is a plus whether its a river or the pool.
  4. What motivates you?  I am a volunteer. I teach and coach. And my greatest incentive and motivation is other peoples enthusiasm and smiles at their own success and achievements.
  5. Favorite guilty pleasure.   I don't know what to say since I shouldn't have to feel guilty about pleasure.
  6. I do have questions about how fitbit monitors and calculates. I have found it monitors my sleep fairly well.  It seems to calculate my steps and mileage more accurately than GoogleFit. And until two weeks ago it seemed very accurate at logging the stair flights and floors.  However, last week I did excessive amounts of walking and stairs (believable, 34 flights a day on vacation) which also seemed relatively accurate. Until this week when I returned home. Presently, I don't see how I can log 64 fights a day and today 104 fights so far. I know I have only been on the stairs or anything like two times today so far.
