I am the father of 2 girls and 8 boys and we live in Central Georgia. My fitness goal is to loose a couple of pounds, improve my health and keep up with our younger kids. We (Most of the family) keep fit by challenging each other with Fitbit competitions.  The wife usually beats me (us) but I give her a good run for the money.  We are pretty competitive so the challenges help motivate us. I am very fond of spicy foods and all the fine peppers used to get them that way. My current 7 day average is 20k and my daily goal is 17k. I am always looking for challengers that can motivate me to increase my steps.

Thank you @SunsetRunner. It makes for some interesting evenings. Imagine 5 or 6 people pacing back and forth in the family room while watching a family show or movie. Ages from the youngest girl (11) to the wife and me. We are definitely putting some wear on the carpet. 🙂

  2. What is your current health/fitness goal? I am cutting back on my sugar intake. I just signed up at a local gym and I'm wanting to lose 10 lbs.
  3. How do you like to stay fit? I like to go hiking, I also work in a pretty strenuous job and am on my feet most of the day. I also want to get a habit of going to the gym too to work on strength.
  4. What motivates you? My boyfriend and my family for sure. I need to be healthy for myself and them. I literally went to school for nutrition and physical therapy and have not put any of that knowledge to my own life.
  5. Favorite guilty pleasure: Right now after work I've been coming home and playing some video games. I'm currently playing My Time in Portia and I swear that game is addicting.

I am new to your "community", but not to FITBIT.  I am very frustrated with my recent Versa purchase.  It is one of many in a long line; I started in 2015 and find they last only a bit over a year.  Every time I purchase one, I debate if I should buy an  Apple Watch. Well, this time I really SHOULD HAVE.  My watch will not synch with My Fitness Pal and continually fails to track active minutes.  I am tired of conversing with Fitbit via Twitter.  Do I have a chance to return this watch purchased with Amazon (with an extended warranty) in June of this year?? I would appreciate hearing others' complaints and issues.  Also, any feedback re Apple Watch...

Thanks,

ScxhweisL

Welcome to the club.I totally understand the maintaining health part. I am constantly working on that myself. Fitbit has been a big part of maintaining my level of activity, keeping my type II diabetes in check and keeping up with our children (especially the twins). We love the challenges!

Hi @MNLV  I merged your post to your original thread. This is a more social thread for introductions and I'd hate for your question to be lost in the posts.
